Yep. Going through the X-Files was like my heart got punched in its face, and I have nobody to tell about it because I am way too late to the aftermath party :(

I definitely know what you mean. I really wish I'd have watched it when it was still more vital. But there's still people out there.

Also, you should really read Monster of the Week. It's Shaenon Garrity's X-Files recap comic. It's great. Here: http://www.shaenon.com/monsteroftheweek/

In my uneducated cat-owning opinion, it sounds like it's only been a day since this odd behavior started, and he's eaten recently and, I assume, has used the litterbox? So if it's anything so dire that twelve more hours is too long to wait, I doubt the ER vet would be able to help much even if you went right now. So perhaps save your money for any long-term treatment the regular vet might prescribe. Good luck!

I thought he was a girl for like the first seven episodes of the anime. idk, those anime designs and female voice actors, whaddya do.

but yeaaah. I think it's cool to interpret him however you want, and any character for that matter. but if it's like, because he's a gentle, non-confrontational sorta guy and those aren't "man traits" I think that's a bit rough.

I love The Sweeney! I haven't seen the remake, though. Not purposely boycotting it or anything, it's just, I dunno... it just wouldn't feel the same.

Putting on songs you totally love is definitely a top-tier drinking activity

I live in Tucson, land of rivers-that-are-only-rivers sometimes. The waterless waterfront delights me.

1) Secrets for fandoms I know

2) Crazy, even wank-inducing secrets

I listen to virtually all of them, just for fairness' sake -- music needs time to grow on me, so an unappealing intro might not mean anything -- but so far the only ones I've liked are Waiting on a Bus and The Brightness.

Most of the music is too...random for me.

Re: QUESTION! PLEASE READ!

Mostly I like the transcripts for those hard-to-read secrets, so it's more the text that's important to me, but I'm cool with whatever you decide. :) Sometimes the fact that you provide some context with who's who really helps, though!

Thank you for taking the time to do this and I hope you feel better soon!

I wasn't aware that Newt/Hermann was that popular. As for Mako/Raleigh, the het shippers are usually not the same people as the slash shippers. Looking at the potential slash dynamics in the film, though, it's still odd that Chuck/Raleigh is more popular than Stacker/Herc (best friends, attached by the hip, but I suppose they're too old) or Herc/Chuck (codependent and messed up, but I suppose that's too incestuous to be a fandom favorite), and even Herc/Raleigh would make more sense than Chuck/Raleigh (but again, Herc is not as young and pretty as Chuck).

I made Oreo Truffle Brownies which turned out awesome.

They could be pictures of "That time I won an award for that thing" or something similarly commemorative. I also read a theory that Cecil and Carlos are role-reversed in Desert Bluffs, and so the picture that Kevin is comparing himself to is one of Carlos and his perfect hair and the picture that Cecil is comparing himself to is the new arrival Kevin is crushing on.

i remember reading somewhere that this whole convention of nipple-less-ness started way back when resolution wasn't so good, so trying to draw them in would look funny. the newer anime where nipples are drawn on topless men are still pretty rare, though... psycho-pass definitely has it, at least.

da

I was at a coffee shop working on fic once (with all the usual precautions - funny screen tilt, small, unreadable cursive font, etc). And the people across from me were looking at their laptop, pointing and giggling - almost as soon I'd hit enter. I swear, I'm normally super irrational, but I was convinced that some crazy hack was allowing them to read as I typed.

THANK. YOU. SO. MUCH. Someone linked me to that comic when it was, like, three pages long, and I loved it and then promptly forgot it existed.

Um. YES.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-10 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
I can't picture him as stick-thin, because he said that the man in the picture in Desert Bluffs was "neither short nor tall, neither fat nor thin," but I definitely picture him as pale and angular. Straight nose, semi-prominent cheekbones, pointy chin, long fingers.

(Anonymous) 2013-08-10 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Come on, anon, you know fandom better than that. We overanalyse everything.

my favorite part too

Thiiiiiis yeah that's why I'm a little put-off by this :/ And the fact that it's that particular screencap, I don't know if it was intentional or not but Armin's being very emotional and nurturing in that scene and it worries me that he would be labeled "not a man" because of it...

Carlos finally gets the nerve to ring the doorbell, and one of the angels opens the door and says, "Come on in; we've just about got it all fixed up for you."

I came away with the impression that Cecil and Earl had dated briefly, Cecil broke it off non-acrimoniously, and Earl still isn't over him.

I...really can't see Steve as an ex. It's more of a sitcom nemesis hate that Cecil has for him. Like, they probably live in the same neighborhood (or building, if Cecil is an apartment dweller) and Steve always leaves his music on too loud and criticizes the state of Cecil's front lawn and is probably the one stealing his newspaper (when there is a newspaper to steal), and he has one of those little yappy dogs that he doesn't train not to bark at/pee on everything.
