35. ... I can totally see it, myself. IMPLAUSIBILITY IS NOTHING.

Oh, god, now I want to write F4/F4 fic. *hides

2. I haven't seen any of the new episodes, and I'm almost afraid to ask, but what have they done to it?

[identity profile] glitterberrys.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not the poster of the secret, but it's really...I don't know how to describe it. I've only seen a couple of new episodes, but it's no longer clever. All the charm is gone. And the one new Silly Song I saw wasn't original, it was Larry singing "my high silk hat."

It's not that it's so terrible now, I guess, it's just really bland and ordinary, compared to how fun and smart it used to be.

[identity profile] corydrane.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
2. Veggie Tales sold out? That's sad. I used to watch it with my siblings when they were little, it was such a cute show D: I still has my Bob refrigerator magnet *nods*

18. That would kinda freak me out too.... but srsly? It was good? link?

18 not the op but I think I know about this one

She had an account on LJ, but during the Great Strike though it got deleted. Her stuff was good and no one would have guessed how young she was until she posted about it.

The thing was some of her fics could have been considered chan.

4. I am! I love Sky Doll so much.

30. I don't know why The Todd doesn't get enough love. I'm more of a Janitor fan, but I'd totally hit that in a second.

19. Good luck with that there anorexia. God knows anime characters are HEALTHY ROLE MODELS.
31. T-The patch? *Bad joke*

33- Agreed!!

3- Agreed. I'm not even into KH, but I find Xigbar much sexier.

IMO, he'll never hold a candle to Luxord, though.

I can understand how it might be embarrassing to admit, since the manga starts out so cutesy. The truth is, the anime gave me a reason to live during some dark and depressing times in my life. The manga reinstates that hope for me even now.

Wow, MGS secrets today.

1. That's weird, because MGS is such a small fandom, and it's honestly hard to think of anybody who actually has "power" over anybody else like that. Maybe some people just like your stuff?

5. Because Otacon doesn't have enough angst, or enough fics where horrible things happen to him? He has issues, yeah, but he doesn't whine and cut himself because of them. He builds giant robots.

10. I like secrets like this. It makes me happy to know that something like a show or a story can help people with getting through the problems in their life. Good luck. I mean it.

12. That is a very pretty picture.

19. Oh lord.

23. Chocolate traps?

27. Oh my god, I remember that movie. Except all I remember is a bunch of farm animals going, "THUM-BE-LI-NAAAAA!"

31. Come on. It's the name of a frigging action figure, not gospel. You know how much Kojima loves to screw with people's heads.

33. Damn right. OMGtheirloveissohumanATfields

37. You know, I never even realized. That's pretty damn funny, actually.

1. Agreed. I don't really think we have anything like BNFs. XD;; We all kind of know each other, anyway.

I can't stand Hidan/Temari – but what drives me nuts isn't the idea of it. It's no worse than any OTHER crack Akatsuki/Some Random Chick ship ... but that's just the problem, really. From my point of view it's the same as shipping Zetsu with Hinata or whatever, and what bugs the hell out of me is how seriously some people seem to take it, and the fact that it's considered more acceptable by fandom than the average bullshit crack pairing.

I don't ship Kakuzu/Hidan. I don't really ship Hidan with anyone. But I especially don't ship him with Temari and I don't understand WHY TEMARI other than that [livejournal.com profile] infinitefirefly likes Temari.

6 OP

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
It's both the shippers and anti-shippers, though I think the shippers have quietened down a lot from the initial backlash, and they have their comm. (I think when I originally wrote this secret before rewording it I saw 'don't like, don't read- weren't we taught that?') Fandom. Needs. To take a chill pill.

Honestly, I could have ranted about that fact myself but I have literally taken characters with no more basis than "you're a hot sex machine, you're underwritten and I love you, lets see if I can write smut with you both!" So I have no room to talk about it.

8. Wow, that's a shame. Listen, I know it can be tough, but you really will be happier in the end if you just stop caring about what "elitists" have to say about any given series. If you connect to a series, or if it makes you happy, then that should be a good thing! ...and besides, FB is a totally fun and wonderful series! Don't be ashamed! :)

11. I love that the relationship between Sam and Dean is so messy and that it lends itself well to so many different interpretations.

12. I haven't been really into S/R for a few years now, but I recall feeling similarly, back in the pre-OotP days. Though I was partial to post-school, pre-Azkaban stuff as well.

33. This secret makes me feel oddly sentimental. Hee, Shinji/Kaworu. Good times, good times...

[identity profile] time-taken.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
This is actually my favorite video probably ever. (I even made an icon because my friends and I enjoyed it so much.) I also am curious as to why you regret making it. Maybe popularity isn't all it's cracked up to be (especially with the sublevel IQ quotient of YouTube commenters).

2. VEGGIE TAAAAAALES

13. I love all the huge, vibrant colors you used.

18. WOAH-HO.

21. BEING AN EBA WOULD BE AWESOME.

29. BOY I HOPE WE SOLVE THIS MYSTERY (I hope I'm not worsening the situation)

36. I love Daft Punk. But watching Interstella 5555 isn't a requirement, you know.

14. I liked Weir and all, but it really was a smart move bringing Sam in. Not only does it show a new perspective to the Military aspect of the expidition, but it really sets up for some good plot (which both Doppleganger and Adrift both showed, imo). It also helps with the fact that the character has experience with many similar situations the Atlantis expidition faces. I'm excited to see how the series goes on. :D

[identity profile] friendshipbeam.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:21 pm (UTC)(link)
4) That looks awesome, whatever it is. *off to the name that fandom thread!*
8) I still kinda want to watch it.
10) This secret made me smile.
15) me too
19) You are just plain creepy, you need help, and you're giving us all a bad name.
22) This reminds me of so many workplace horror stories. Geez, now it's extended to BNF-dom...?
25) Aaand that's why I don't watch or read intentionally OOC stuff! Well, except for YGO:TAS (because it rules) and Tokyo Mew Mew In A Nutshell (because it makes fun of fanfic cliches).
26) ♥
27) Your friend sucks.
28) They bash female characters even if they SPEAK to slashable males. Or if they don't, really.

#8, if you love the series you love the series. Don't let people make you feel stupid for it. If they give you a funny look, give one back. If you let them push you around they'll push other people like yourself around. Stand up for yourself! Please! Without expressing how much you really like it, you'll never find others who do. Imagine how lonely they feel too. :)

#14

[identity profile] boombangbing.livejournal.com 2007-10-06 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed. I don't have particularly strong feelings towards Weir either way (female characters take a long time to grow on me), but she's gone, and guess what? The show doesn't live or die by her! Half the fan were and are in uproar, before they'd even seen one episode with her! People are turning against the show just because an actor they like is leaving. Sometimes actors want to move on, change happens! I'm not overly worried about it, the McKay/Carter dynamic should be good.

(Tapping is looking damn hot, too.)

Re: #14

(Anonymous) 2007-10-06 10:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it's like the fandom's claiming it's supposed to be the Weir-Beckett show.

Isn't it good to keep the show freshed, instead of recycling old ideas? I remember Ford leaving lead to some great developement of his character, despite the fact that he was gone for most of the season... but it made people like him more. I'm waiting to see how far they take this plot with Weir... it sounds really cool. :D

19. You're going to be getting a lot of this, but, uh, that's really, really not healthy. There are very few human beings who are actually that skinny. I really doubt that wanting to look like that is making you happy, and you should definitely talk to someone you can trust about that.

[identity profile] visiblebones.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)

2. I LOVE VT. The old, REAL VT. I'm not a Christian, but I loved it anyway, because it was sweet, clever and promoted good universal morals. Plus it was REALLY funny (take caaaaare of my hairbrush!) Now it's soulless and stupid. It makes me really sad.
