The best you've ever "red"?

Are you serious?

Maybe the OP is twelve as well. We should tell his/her family.

Click the "read the real story" link on the front page. It's really long, but it about made me cry - I hadn't known they'd gone bankrupt, or anything.

Oh no, a twelve year old has found a way to express their budding sexuality in a completely non-harmful and constructive way--WHAT SHALL WE DO? Seriously, would you rather him/her be boning some guy on the street? I'm sorry if humans are innately sexual creatures (most of us, you crazy asexuals you. ;) ) and that develops at different times. If writing is a way for s/he to explore that burgeoning part of his/her personality you have absolutely no right to judge it. It's imagination, it's fiction, and damn it, it's free speech. We don't get denied that until we're 18 and then magically are granted the ability to think/feel/discuss things that are before then societally "inappropriate". Give the kid a break.

I think he's hot. I actually hate doctors but I totally love Mayuri. D:

icon very related XD

[identity profile] nanyakanya.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
9. OH hell yes! I think part of the reason he's so endearing is that despite the perfectionist aura he likes to give off, he has some hilarious phobias and flaws. The fact that he feels compelled to take care of Nodame is cute enough. That he also grows as a person as the series goes along, and learns to not be such an asshole to everyone is another good point of his. Also that he seems so awkward when it comes to the touchy-feely-mushy stuff and oblivious when it comes to relationships. XD

That and his hair is fluffy messy love. ♥

I've read the responses to this and, well...I realize that a) writing about sex doesn't equal having sex and b) children are exposed to a lot of graphic violence and sex, and that it's silly and naive to imagine they don't know anything about either of them.

However, I think what the OP might have meant was that it's troubling that a 12 year old would know enough about sex to write it convincingly, especially if it involved young characters. Had I read the fic/s in question, it might have set off potential "abuse victim" warning bells.

[identity profile] naroclie.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 12:49 am (UTC)(link)
I wrote, RPed and drew smut (fairly accurately, too) when I was 12, and I was still a virgin. In fact, I pretty much STOPPED writing smut when I had sex for the first time.

My friend showed me that movie at a party once. I'd never heard of it before and I'd never really listened to Daft Punk either. But I thought the movie was absolutely brilliant and beautiful. I'd love to watch it again. I listen to Discovery all the time now <3

Let's start one. An EBA. Right here, right now.

With an Ouendan branch in Japan.

[identity profile] longlongwaytogo.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
27. Oh gosh I loved that movie as a kid! :D I wish I could find it somewhere to rewatch.

[identity profile] starstruck2.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
6. Ohhh baby, I LOVE IT ALL.
Haha, no actually. I really really agree with everything you said. And I probably know you. Or know of you.

18. I still love Fruits Basket. So much.

[identity profile] norrowa.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
37. All right. TIME FOR AN "ICHIGO IS GAY" PROOF:

assuming the following statements to be true:

1. Hisana was Byakuya's beard (uh. if it's not common slang, beard = a woman who a gay man uses to make himself seem straight to outside observers by pretending to be in a relationship with her)
2. Rukia looks almost exactly like Hisana
3. Ichigo and Rukia act like an old married couple (see: IchiRuki Fanon, 2nd edition, Fanbrat Press)

therefore:

4. Rukia is Ichigo's beard
5. Ichigo is gay.

37 OP

(Anonymous) 2007-10-07 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, see, that was pure hilarious.

Now I think I am required to share with you a bit of dialouge that came to me while I was talking to the one friend who knows about how gay I think Byakuya is this morning.

Byakuya: "God, do you know what you're SAYING?! The rest of the noble houses would come down on my head if they found out-"

Renji: "What? That you take it up the ass? Dammit, they already KNOW you have SOMETHING rammed up there, so what if it's a cock? At least they'll know you like it."

[identity profile] liltigre.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
.... xD Eee, I'm so glad to see some love for her books. I read The Good Earth in seventh grade, and it's one of my all-time favorites. Imperial Woman was a good one too... augh, she's so classic. <3 to you!

3. I have dirty, dirty dreams about Xigbar and regret none of them. :3

18. D: Ewwwww. 12 year olds should not be writing smut. :/

21. I WANT TO JOIN, TOO. I still get a little choked up at "You're the Inspiration"

36. That movie is made of pure love. :o I wish it was easier to get a hold of a copy of it! I love Daft Punk's little cameo in the audience. XD

Or is it only okay once they're 13?

9. I love Chiaki immensely too. And normally, he's the type of character I would hate. Maybe I have a thing for musicians...who knows?

16. I hated that book so much and I'm still not sure why. I recognized that it wasn't bad and was written well, it just was so depressing. The characters did all of these stupid things and their lives got worse and worse, and even when they got better the book ended on such a depressing note, ugh. I would totally buy it in illustrated form, though, if it was pretty enough...

Then I'd send it to my Novel Study teacher.

36. FREAKING. SIGNED.

That is my FAVORITE Anime Movie EVER. Shep is the biggest, hottest dork of a fan-boy and I'll NEVER get sick of watching it.

(and it killed me that whats-his-face made a cover of Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger and didn't even bother making it any more than a /bad/ sex joke. I know there isn't much to the song to BEGIN WITH, and I know that Daft Punk was on board for it, but I keep seeing the song as it was in the movie AND DAMMIT, IF THAT WASN'T ONE OF THE COOLEST SCENES, WHAT WAS?!)

[identity profile] dia-aren-marie.livejournal.com 2007-10-07 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Y HALO THAR MIGHT I HAVE INTO YOU INTO A BAR SOMEWHERE? ♥

HOLY SHIT ARE YOU SERIOUS THAT IT IS CAUSE I FREAKING LOOOOOOVEEEE DAFT PUNK AND INTERSTELLA 5555 D: D: D: D:

GIRL GET IN MY BED. NOW.

(That was Kayne West, I think. Not much opinion on his song. *randomly does Daft Hands* 8D)
