You're the only one that can stop yourself from drawing it. Sure, getting accepted and signing a piece of paper could be a catalyst, but you're the one, ultimately, who is going to have to decide for yourself what you do in your fandom life.

... there's this kind of .. really sad thing where reading that secret gave me pangs. bad ones. because I know .. almost exactly what that feels like and how it was so fucking painful.

I'm really sorry. I feel for you. I really, really do. But if it's gotten this far, it's probably the better thing that you've gone your separate ways. Those stories and logs and everything will be stuff you look back on in the months to come with a really confusing mixture of nostalgia and bitterness, but you'll end up keeping it all anyway.

10 is temporarily down, but judging from the comments I'm assuming it's about "girl gamers" and prejudice, sooooo

Most people I've met have either been fine with me being female and a gamer, or they just didn't say anything about it. Pretty much the only time I've ever dealt with any prejudice is actually from my own brother. See, I had just gotten out of surgery and he called to ask how I was and stuff, and we eventually started talking about video games. I mentioned that I had gotten Metal Gear Solid recently, and he was all shocked and said something like "I'm just kind of surprised, because... well, you're a girl. *laughs* I thought girls were all into Pokemon and Animal Crossing and stuff." He was kinda the same way last month when I said I got Splinter Cell for my birthday, and asked how I heard about it and stuff. As for me, I actually took both instances in stride -- just laughed 'em off and happily explained why I was interested in those games. Anti-climatic, I know :B

Fanfiction (or RPG, whatever it was) is sirius business.

In other news, I've never been to Tikal 1500 year ago and I'm German anyway, so I guess I should stop writing about the old Maya, right?

I know crappy fanfiction can be irritating, but sheesh. If she/he is never going to try writing about complicated human feelings, then, news flash, she/he won't learn it. Authors make mistakes. Yes, I've been offended by fanfiction, too (when I was at the amazingly mature age of fourteen). Then I realized the stuff is not about me and even if an author writes unrelaistic, melodramatic rape/suicide/whatever stuff, 98% of the time it's not to make me feel bad or dwarf the problems of anybody but just because she/he is untrained and not yet able to recognize it.

God. ::cries.:: I have missed the last three episodes of Meerkat Manor because of having been so busy with everything else ... and I knew something bad had happened but I thought that Zaphod had died. NOT FLOWER. That's terrible ... god, now I'm really depressed. My kitties and my mum and I would always make a point to watch it every Friday, but I noticed that they had switched the encore time last week from midnight and I missed it again ... and that's terrible.
