Really? Most of the Danny/Stiles fic I have read has been pretty cute. Then again, I don't read a lot of TW fic (and I lean more towards Stiles/Peter atm).

I must hang out in a different part of fandom because I have never run into that. Where I am he seems to be the only character everyone can agree on liking. Weird.

If they're actually Danny/Stiles fics (which I've read a lot of) then Derek isn't Stiles' romantic interest and Danny isn't an asshole. Maybe you're reading the wrong fics. I ship Stiles with almost everybody though *shrugs*

Also, while I've seen plenty of Scott bashing (some deserved, most not), I've never seen Danny bashing. I can only think of one fic I read where he and Stiles were the past relationship where Danny was even a jerk. Usually it's an amicable split.

If you read fic on AO3 and search Danny/Stiles, Sterek can be rather overwhelming. I know that more Stanny fic has been created, so it is easier to find. Don't do a search by kudos. Do a regular search for the pairing. Sterek in the Stanny tag is more prominent if you search by kudos or reviews.

Or, because people don't find him cute or hot. Sorry, I think he's a sweet person and Stanny is sweet (in theory), but the actor is very old looking and not anywhere near as conventionally handsome as any other young guy on the show. Posey is miles ahead of him in the looks department and - surprise surprise! - he is a part of the second most popular TW slash pairing as well as the most popular het one.

The majority of Danny fic I've seen doesn't bash him at all. But it doesn't bother me when he's a bit of an asshole in it because Danny is a bit of an asshole in canon anyways, mostly to Stiles. It's like people forget that he is Jackson's best friend and about half the time he's onscreen he's being a dick to whoever is talking to him unless it was Jackson.

I totally think it's the corner of fandom you're in. Most of the Danny I see with Stiles is using him as Stiles's gay sexual awakening. I don't particularly agree with that stereotype, but I don't see a lot of Danny hate.

What I am upset about is killing you're most prominent/obvious PoC for no damn reason.

I've honestly never seen Danny hate except on f!s. (And that was only one person, I think.) Everyone seems to adore him. Maybe some of those people's preferred ship doesn't involve him, but that doesn't make them racist.

Stiles' fascination with Danny is adorable, and I'd read ALL the fic where his feelings were one-sided, but otherwise I'm not interested in the pairing. I would rather read Danny/Jackson or Danny/OC because I'm not a big fan of Ethan.

When I see people saying they don't like Scott it's mostly because they think he's boring. That has a lot more to do with the kind of character he is (and the writing) than anything else. (I've liked many lawful good type characters and seen every one of them get called boring. This is nothing new.)

Huh. I read a lot of TW fic lately (and I mean a lot) and I can only think of one fic that had Danny as a jerk ex. And he wasn't even that jerky. And still had the whole 'everyone likes him he's a decent guy' thing going. I've read quite a few cute Danny/Stiles fics too, though admittedly half of those are more Danny/Stiles date for awhile and then amicably break up and remain friends with Derek/Stiles endgame, so...

This show and the fandom has a lot of race issues but from my experience in the fandom I wouldn't say this is one of them.

That is a huge problem with a lot of fandoms. The racism is rampant, but everyone complains about how "we're not all like that!" and "they just don't go well together imo." It's crazy watching people dive bomb around canon sources that ship a thing, but fandom freaks out and refuses to ship a thing, because of skin color. I'm not sure which is worse, fandom's overall dismissal to out-right hatred of characters of color or female characters. It's pretty close either way, I suppose.

I know that Keahu Kahuanui is a native Hawaiian, but he doesn't really read as a POC to a lot of people, I don't think. Honestly, Tyler Posey (who I think is one of the POCs you're talking about getting bashed) may be half Mexican, but he (like James Roday, another actor who is Mexican on his mother's side) also doesn't read as a POC to a lot of people.

I think some of the Scott-bashing was due to how he was written, but I think more of it is due to people being upset about how he treated Stiles and Derek. I don't agree with the Scott-bashing and it went way, way over the top for his supposed transgressions (I do think he could have been a better friend to Stiles, but I don't think he was all that bad and he was kind of a dick to Derek, but Derek was often a jerk to him). It is quite possible not to like a character because of their actions and not how they look.

I can't figure out the other character you're talking about. Is there a lot of hate/bashing for Deaton or Morell? (It can't be for Boyd, can it?)

I'm only glancingly involved in this fandom but I've gotta say- Danny's cute but he has very little substance to his character, so it makes sense to me that people don't ship him often (add to that the fact that, at least when I was watching, he just wasn't onscreen that often).

Two things: One, it annoys me that fandom tries to make race wank out of Danny's involvement on the show or in the fandom. He's a background character who was only introduced on the show as a punchline for Stiles' curiosity. It's not like he's really of any importance at all to the show except to throw in some homosexual fanservice every once in a while.

Two, it annoys me that Danny/Stiles is ALWAYS made the example with similar rants. When are Danny/Scott going to get recognized as the superior Danny ship? Not that I truly care. It's more of a pet peeve than an actual annoyance.
