Re: Prostitution
(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)Re: Prostitution
While forced prostitution is horrible, women who are in the profession of their own consent seem to think of it as a mostly positive experience. They all said they wish it was legalized so it could be regulated.
And you are off your rocker if you think prostitutes from SC that I found on Craigslist are going to be of the "secret diary of a call girl" caliber.
Re: Prostitution
(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)But I'm just curious, what do these women (and you) consider forced prostitution? What I mean is, often when people become a prostitute it's what they feel is their only option. I'm wondering if that would still be considered non-forced.
I hope this isn't offensive, I've tried to word it the best I could. I'm just honestly curious because of the very few prostitutes I've talked to it was never really a positive experience for them, but I recognize that's not true for everyone.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-29 04:09 am (UTC)(link)So what I'm getting from this is that you only want to hear from sex workers who find/found it miserable, and no one else. So you already have your mind made up about how sex work is for everyone. So... why are you asking people, again? You know what you want to hear and that's the only thing you'll believe so just go on believing it. You've just said you'll disregard anything that doesn't reconfirm your preconceived beliefs.

(Anonymous) 2013-09-28 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)We're talking about real dolls, That person said if she was rich she'd just rent celebrities to her friends instead, I said "what the fuck" she comes back saying she just mean rent male celebrities like fassbender to 'Talk' to. Take from that what you will, but I still don't trust her.

Re: Prostitution
Hey dumbass, I was talking about my female friends who would want to spend a day with their favorite male celebrities (in this case) David Bowie, Tom Hiddleston, and Tom Hardy.
I assumed they would probably go to dinner, maybe an amusement park. My friend who loves David Bowie would definately want to see him perform (maybe for her friends in a private concert). Tom Hiddleston friend (who is married) would just want to spend all day talking to him about how passionate he is about acting. My sister who likes Tom Hardy would just want to stare at him all day as he gushes about how much he loves animals and dogs.
You are an assuming jackass aren't you?

Given she was pretty much the face of anti-legalisation in certain corners of the internet I'm surprised it hasn't got more coverage.
Re: Prostitution
I really think prostitution should be legalized. Being able to regulate and monitor would go so long to helping workers. They could get an actual union, be required to carry licenses and take mandatory STD tests, be able to work in monitored/safe areas (like a brothel), etc. It would also protect the clients as well.
Re: Prostitution
Maybe Julie Bindel? But I can't find the recent article talking about her research being thrown out.
