I can see where you're coming from, but it seems that a lot of these characters are made to justify their appearance, especially when they act childish.

But then there's the other end of the spectrum with stuff like Australia's porn law on small/flat chests.

I wouldn't worry about it. Fans like to headcanon Dean as Gay/Bisexual even though it's been hammered in that he's hetero, so I don't see any difference in seeing him as ace instead. Remember, fandom is supposed to be fun!

It really depends on the manga though? Trigun is notorious for chaotic layouts so you're def not alone with that.

Try something like Fullmetal Alchemist.

Flat shoes make me happy in general, OP. Thinking of people doing anything remotely action-y in heels makes me cringe. I have to not look at characters' shoes most of the time.
