16. Ernie was my favorite character in that show. I had a doll that i used to take with me everywhere, but I lost it in a park when I was three. I was DEVISTATED. We tried to find a replacement, but they didn't sell them anywhere. The new Ernie doll wasn't the same.

18. I'm a New Who fan. I only just got into a few months ago, when I started watching the 2005 season over the summer. I love 9 and 10, they rock. But so do the past doctors. I haven't been able to find a place online (I am flat broke and have no money for dvds) so I have been unable to watch any of the seasons before the 8th Doctor's movie (he also rocks, but I've seen a few clips of a few of the doctors, and read about them, so I know enough to know that they're cool. Please don't lump all of us in with the anyone-except-Rose-bashing idiots. (Though it is fun to squee about Jack sometimes.)

But I understand how you feel. I'd hate it if a bunch of newbies came into my fandom and wouldn't give the past seasons a chance.

4. I think for a lot of people, it was their first real shounen-ai, so it holds a special spot on their lists. I know it was for me, and I used to watch episodes of it every morning before I went to school because, yes, it's over the top, but it cheered me up. It may not be the best shounen-ai ever, but it was still a very important one.

18. I've never indulged in that particular fandom but what I've heard frankly terrifies me. (It doesn't help that what with one thing and another I've never managed to get around to seeing much of the original and so I'm constantly worried I'm being a DW-newbie douchebag without realizing it.)

18. Well, almost any fandom you get into is going to have its share of batshit crazy people. (I was going to use Discworld as one of the exceptions, but after a recent post in BRPS I'm not so sure anymore. o_o;) Unfortunately, some fandoms get more of their share of the crazies and the people who can't think their way out of a paper bag, so while the source material may be golden (Doctor Who, Kingdom Hearts), the fandom turns just about everybody off before they even begin.

Sucks to be one of the sane minority, huh.

18. I also only got into DW a few months ago, when I was bored and depressed and needed something to distract me. And yes, I've mostly only seen the new series. This isn't because I think the old series isn't worth watching, it's because I don't have the time to watch 30 years worth of old episodes. I watch what I can, and what I've seen I absolutely adore (Romana FTW!), but until I've seen more Old School Who and feel like I have a solid grasp on the characters I'm going to stay mostly in the new series fandom. I'd rather write what I know and risk being lumped with the batshit fans. I'm working on it.

Yes, I also thought something like that at first (not my fault that I stuck with watching the bazillions of versions from Schatten Werden Länger). I (not so) secretly think that it would be cool if it were truth, too XD' But the musical is as awesome as it is. There are so many VERSIONS and ACTORS and the music is just plain AWESOME in german and in japanese, and gosh, Uwe Kröger!!!


Ps: I think he does a better Rudolph anyway, but just because Uwe stole the place of better Death in my poor fangirl heart. I'd be in doubt, too. But the TV presentation where Uwe push him to his knees - it did everything for me. The interaction between them is just awesome, they're the best duo in my opinion.

4. I like Gravitation for the pointless crack that it is and respect that it helped invent the seme/uke stereotypes I love to hate and sometimes parody. Some of the side characters, like Tohma, are interesting and fun, but I only reread it out of TWS and a need for batshit insanity when my angst addiction gets to be too much.
