7. Lucky.

13. What's keeping you from doing the writing yourself?

23. Silmeria FTW. Isn't there at least some subtext?

I'm still playing it, to be honest. I got finished with some dessert part and all the levelling you do in each area was killing it softly for me so I took a break.

18. I started out with the Ninth Doctor, watched Ten's first series, and went back and watched nearly all 1-7's episodes before starting Ten's second series. And while I love Ten and Nine and Jack and Martha and Donna Rose...not so much. I'd send in a secret detailing how much I ended up hating Rose by the end of series one, but it's not so much a secret if you know me, nothing beats the old Companions and Doctors for me.
AllIncarnationsMaster/AllIncarnationsDoctor OTP.

29. I recently had to clean out my room of all the books I'm not reading anymore, and I kept all my Wayside School books. I'm nineteen and consider myself a lit snob. But I can't resist.
ext_6137: Yoruichi is really hot :D (Default)

6. Wow. That is epic stupid.

25. I think this one's (http://youtube.com/watch?v=bblW2Sw9t4g) pretty good, though admittedly I like the song a lot.

29. This is a secret? :DD

4 - The anime is a classic simply because it's one of the very, very few BL anime series (that's less true now; at the time it was even more rare). The anime is not amazing, but generally likeable, vaguely amusing and quite accessible. You're certainly not alone, many many people seem to dislike it because it's popular.

Personally I don't have much of an opinion on the anime, but I adore the manga (partly because Shuichi is not so girly) and find it awesomely funny.

If you think Gravitation gives yaoi a bad name... well. You can't have seen much.

20 - Haydée! ♥ I love her in both Gankutsuou and the novel... but possibly Ganku more just because her character design is so beautiful.

23 - ... you think Romeo is manly? :p

Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria was more of my actual secret, I guess, as I've never actually seen Romeo x Juliet! I've just seen that picture now and then and noticed how feminine that Romeo. ♥; So no, I don't.

4. Gravitation gets called a classic because it's often the first shounen-ai story people read. Back during the days when manga was only just becoming popular (and harder to find to download so you had to buy it) your choices were Gravitation and FAKE if you wanted to read a BL series without having to resort to ordering it online or buying it at a con.

It's kinda hard to compare it to other BL series when it's the first one you've read.

[identity profile] halevy.livejournal.com 2007-11-03 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
4. Gravitation is pure, light-hearted fun, or at least that's my take on it. I definitely thought the manga (though I never finished it) was better than the anime. It was the anime that really opened the doors to yaoi for me and lots of other people.

The anime seemed to cut out a lot of characterization, in my opinion. Like Yuki's a cold seme, but he's got a really funny side in the manga that never makes it into the anime.

Childish characters? You mean just Shuichi and Ryuichi? Lol. Tohma was more calm, although I guess he's a bit more open in the manga. K is... wacky but not childish. Hiro is nowhere near childish either. So what? I'm not going to touch the angst, since I just figured that the relationships were bound to have problems and Yuki's traumatic past was kind of reasonable.

The OAVs are shit though. :V

[identity profile] serika-san.livejournal.com 2007-11-03 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
1. I never got the chance to do it, cause the person I was going to snag it from never finished it. lol I bet I would have a hard time with it anyway.

5. ...I just don't see the hype about being a BNF. I do tons of stuff for my main fandom, but it's cause I love the series to death (and it's highly under-appreciated), not cause I want my own fandom or something ...dear god, that'd be kind of scary, actually.

10. I've been curious about the pairing for awhile now, but I still don't quite ship it yet. I'd have to find some good fanfiction or something like that to convince me.

23. Juliet wears the pants in that relationship. Romeo gets points for being adorable, though. Even if he's kind of wimpy.

24. .....I think that would be really hot. >>;

25. I am so in agreement with you that it's not even funny. Sure, sometimes effects can add something to a video when used in moderation. Lately there's been such a "fad" with dosing AMVs down with so many effects and overlays that I can't even stand to watch them. I still stick with my trusty and constantly crashing Windows Movie Maker, and unless I'm doing something for comedic purposes or just for fun, I'm a total nut about making the AMVs showcase emotion and/or story (whether the story follows the series, a specific theme, or even AU and such). People don't realize that it actually takes a heck of a lot of effort and feeling to put AMVs together like that even if they're not exploding with special effects. ...So, just to say that you're not alone. And some of us AMV-makers really do focus on that sort of thing.

I didn't write ANY of those secrets, but I feel like responding. XDDD

1. ...I sowwy. XD; It's hard to remember to do memes when the notifications aren't working! and the only clear ones i had in my head were Renge for puchiko and Anstatia for...for...I forget her name. *dies* For you all I could think was Malen.

5. You're my BNF. <3

10. Same. I can see Haruhi with anyone but Honey or Mori. (and no, it's not because I ship them together, because I don't.

25. I *mostly* agree. the only trend listed as not important in that secret that I DO like is not using the same clip for too long. I kinda feel like it isn't quite 'edited' if the same clip is used for a long time straight through XD;; *picky*

I mean, I really like my best friend just as much, but it's a platonic thing :/

First I like to point out, LOL Sakura looks like she's staring at the "Oh God..." in confusion. Second, her confusion reminded me of the days back when she was so young and pure. And then I imagined her with Kakashi and

I think I got your point.

Amusingly, I just pulled those books out from my bookshelf last week, because I'd been talking to a customer at work about them and how they were probably the most amazing books I ever had to read as a child. They were cute, quirky, and clever, and are probably the biggest reason I ended up loving writing so much. Wholeheartedly agree with your sentiments here, and completely unashamed to say it at 23.

I know who this is talking about too. Fucking WORD, man. I feel so terrible because they're such nice people and all, but their characterization and writing is seriously that bad. Isn't there anything that can be done? D8

4. The show needs more Hiro and K. And I mean as individual characters, not shipping action. XDDDD;;;
9. That's nice, you hate drabbles. The rest of us will keep writing them to our heart's content. :P
14. That's the most adorable secret I've read in aeons. ♥
16. I had pretty embarrassing cartoon crushes myself, so don't worry about it. ;D
22. Thanks to the people here in the comm, I'm thinking of starting shipping them too. :o Too cute!
29. I LOVED THESE BOOKS. I remember rereading Wayside School is Falling Down over and over as a kid. Remember the three Chapter 19s? ;D

22. Join the dark side, Puri~ WE HAVE COFFEE AND PIE!

(Trouble is, if I wrote fic for them I wouldn't know whether to call Pearl...Pearl or Jun. Or Barry since that's one of the most common defaults I think.)

4. WORD. I used to like it back when I was a squeeing yaoi fangirl (ugh, ew) but now I realize there's sooo much better. The only characters I remotely like are fairly minor, too. Eww, I hate this series.

29. WAYSIDE SCHOOL FUCK YEAH
I so need to reread those. MRS. GORF!

4. You suck.

(Anonymous) 2007-11-03 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't post it but I'm morbidly curious as to what they would suck?

Seeing as Gravitation is a ZOMG MAN ON MAN BUT NOT REALLY SINCE SHUICHI IS TOTALLY A GIRL WITH A DICK it'd be wonderfully(woefully?) ironic if it were like sucking like someone's manhoodness. WHOA WHOA WHOA. Am I not the only that finds this amusing? Yes/Yes?

DO WANT! But I suck at adding characters in together, so...I don't know if I'd be the best person for that. (this icon is the closest thing I could do to that.)

[identity profile] radarsparks.livejournal.com 2007-11-03 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
29. I effin' love those books. ♥

[identity profile] anogete.livejournal.com 2007-11-03 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
9 - I love you! Seriously. I completely agree. I rarely ever read drabbles, even by authors I love. I'm never satisfied with 100 words of text, no matter how masterful they are. And, 20 drabbles are not the same as a 2000 word one-shot. One-shots win hands down. I'm always disappointed when I see a drabble posted in any archive, regardless of fandom. Such a waste of space, IMHO.

14 - Courage is such an amazing show. I'm 26 and I watch it whenever it is on. I even squee a little bit. It's amazing how such a little thing can open your eyes to something.
