I'm somewhat new to this area of the 'net. I don't know what BNF means or muns either.
I assume the latter means those who play Game/Anime/Manga characters and they're also muses?

I think half of this slang is derived in fanfics and muse RPs or whatever and that's why I'm not familiar with it, even though I Rp.

Oh, and what does wank mean? Crappy writing?

BNF = Big Name Fan.

To my knowledge, the term originated in relation to fanfiction, but can refer to pretty much any fan whose contribution to the fandom has earned them some manner of celebrity. [Like... Solid & Etc for Hellsing art, for instance.] 'BNF' tends to earn a less privileged nuance because most people associate it with a pretentious attitude and overrated art/fic/essays/ahR-Pee/whatnot. And obsessive groupies.


Wank, as prevalent in fandom_wank (http://www.journalfen.net/community/fandom_wank) is another term for 'fandom drama', usually once it's escalated beyond reasonable proportions. [Incidentally, try the link - some of the reports are unbelievably lulzy]


'Muns' = players of certain RP characters.

oh lawd. this actually happened to me once back when i was a hueg death note fangirl. though i suppose it was my fault for saving it on my mother's computer (it was only temporary since my computer was ooc at the time, but seriously: BAD FUCKING IDEA).. but seriously, who just randomly decides to sit down and do a search for all image files on their computer anyway?!

anywho, my mother and i, well, we had a.. umm.. "talk" about my "problem". she told me she was disappointed in me and was sort of "disgusted and worried" about me too. like this was some kind of horrible fetish i had that was leading me down the path of wrong or something.

anyway, afterwards i just deleted everything i'd saved off her computer, promised i'd never do it again and went on with my life.

now i just keep everything in a hidden folder with an innocuous name deep inside another directory on a portable harddrive.

i blame gl though for making me so paranoid nowadays. it's hard keeping 6,500 pictures completely secret );

what i'm trying to say is: don't let it get to you. just keep it hidden, don't save anything on your parents' computers and play it cool. also, try to think of an explanation in the event you do get caught: it sounds stupid and deceitful, but that's what i did and it saved my ass.

you might be breaking the rules and lying, but sometimes you have to just kick reason to the curb and go for it~

haha i probably sound like a horrible person after saying all this ;_;

Not looking at it to begin with is the smartest option.
But it seems everyone loses in this area. I was about 15 or so and somehow my parents found images and such on my computer. It was really embarrassing and we never talked about it after that. o_o;
