8. Agreed, so hard. I can sort of get why it was so short, though. A lot of the longer series have 23948273 characters to focus on, while there's pretty much just four or five in YnM.

16. I'm not trying to speak for all RPer-couples, but it's just the idea, you know? It feels so romantic, because the characters you roleplay are often so much more interesting and awesome than you think you are, and when OTPs are involved it's incredibly easy to pass their situations on to yourself and your RP partner. And for some people (myself included, to a point), roleplaying is their entire world, a sort of fantasy or a dream they live in to escape from a RL that might be miserable or just plain boring.

It's not an easy thing to understand unless you've been there. Sort of like how "normal" people who define their internet lives by Facebook, more or less, don't understand how fandomers can love a series so much that they go so far as writing fic and drawing art, among other things.

16. I met my girlfriend through online RP. Sure, we pretended we were fictional characters, but while we played make-believe in AIM, we also conversed OOC in MSN windows. We vented to each other about our respective crazy families. At the time I met her, I was going through an extremely difficult time, and she was one of the people who helped me through it the most. I could talk to her about anything, fandom or not, and she could do the same to me.

That's why I fell in love with her. Not because of who we were playing, but who she is when not RPing. She's funny, sweet, witty, random, always knows what to say to make me feel better... And when we finally got to meet in person, that was it. I don't need a computer to enjoy being around her. Hell, we're both working feverishly on closing the international long-distance gap.

Maybe I don't think it's all that crazy or desperate because I've done it. For me, it would be no different than if I'd met her locally at anime club. I love her just the same.
