According to the test I took just now I am ENTJ

What does that even mean?

Edit: At least both the career paths I am thinking of pursuing is recommended for my personality type, who'd have thought it... One would think my personality had something to do with which job I want.

It fits me pretty well too, even if based on what I am reading we don't come across as the nicest of people. At least we can lead them to the greater good?

True, and usually the fun is in knowing you can do something not doing it, especially not the less nice stuff.

...I jump between ENTJ and ENTP (mostly sticking to ENTJ), and reading the info about ENTP I fit pretty well into both*, so I guess I probably will jump between them whenever I test myself, I do know I have tested as one of them at an earlier point too.

*Tho I think a bit of the ENTP thing might just be because I want to be "nicer" than I actually am.

I feel pretty much the same about the less nice stuff. Like sure, everybody COULD go full evil, but it's nice to be nice! Why do it if there's no good reason? And if you're going to do it, better to know what you CAN do and do it for some good reason than flip out and scare yourself because you happened to get really mad one day and then regret it all later. :c

And if you're working in groups, sometimes somebody HAS to and good god meetings where people who are supposed to be experts! with decades of experience! and leading the conversation! just sit around going "ummmm" and acting awkward aeghsdjkfhkfhkfjhf

I pretty much live by the philosophy "It is much harder to not break the law than to break it", same with any social codes and such, it is harder to follow them all than to break them. Which is one of the biggest reasons to why I am for the most part one of the nicest and most polite person you will meet, but then I have days I just say screw it (or just reach a point when I just give up) and I can do a lot of damage with the knowledge I have, I always regret it, but yeah.

In addition to the fact that I actually enjoy being nice, because being nice is the correct thing to do.

Yup, I am mostly always the leader of whichever group I get put in, but I never volunteer, and if a leader presents him/herself I will follow as long as they do a good job. I don't get why people just can't take charge and get on with the jobs at hand, we all have the same damn information. ~~I get that it is different personalities and such, but I still get slightly annoyed~~

I'm that 20-something year old that's always sort of telling the 50-something year old people to get back on topic and telling them how/why their ideas don't work (they aren't quite in touch with the internet age, let's leave it at that), so I know what you mean, HAHA. I'm pretty sure they don't enjoy that much, but damn it we're there to do a job, not to be a hugbox! Then they get kind of confused when I'm perfectly amiable at them later - I wasn't criticizing THEM as much as their ideas or that one thing they did that one time, people tend to assume it's all personal. :c

I get what you mean! I don't either criticize people because I am annoyed at them as persons, only because they do something that I don't think is the best way of doing it. When the project/meeting/whatever finishes I am done with it.

I usually advance to leader positions pretty fast, I am Class President, used to be leader in the volunteer thing I did (and also the youngest person there) and people tend to automatically trust me, which came in handy when I worked as a Phone salesperson. I never go after leader positions on purpose, and I think I will prefer to be in middle management over anything else, I don't want to be on the top of the ladder, mostly in case something bad happens.

What's really funny to me is that I'm on the opposite end of that spectrum - because I tend to criticize without meaning anything personal, I take criticism that way...which means more than once, people have intentionally insulted me and I completely missed it. Namely, it would be something like calling me ugly, and I would shrug it off as just a commentary on my appearance, only to realize later that it was meant to be a commentary on ME as a person. Even when people called me "stupid", because I'm so used to needing to stop and account for people's emotional reactions, I default to assuming they are just saying that because they are frustrated with a bad idea I have right now. Most of the time, that's the case, but every now and then it turns out they weren't just reacting, they were actually insulting me as a person. o.O

Most people have at least one letter where they drift strongly towards the middle/don't "settle" in that category (I am firmly INT, but while I lean heavily towards P, I also have a lot of J - even though I identify more firmly with INTP, I somehow end up hanging around the INTJ group on Facebook more).

There are groups for every type (and the Keirsey temperaments), which are a lot of fun. :D

...I presume. I'm in the INTJ group, and apparently we scare some of the other type groups. The other groups are, from what I've seen, a lot more light-hearted, and then we keep talking philosophy and social issues and politics. As a group we're friendly towards other types, but amongst ourselves we verbally eviscerate each other and rip each other apart in digital debate because why the hell wouldn't we? :P

Probably because one box fits all does not work, and our personality is not a complete constant.

Well us ENTJ types being both leaders and not big on compromise so yeah, we are probably pretty scary too... I am not completely sure on the terminology or anything, but based on myself I am don't do compromise that well, nor do I enjoy or have the patience for what I perceive as stupidity I also can turn anything into a pretty heated debate, which I assume some people might find scary, but I don't take it that seriously I am just curious about what others are thinking. Then again I can rip someone apart for having an opinion I don't share.

My personality is pretty much not that nice, tho I as a person am pretty nice, but a lot of it is just because I want to be not because I am so naturally.

Which have lead to me at times hurting people pretty badly with my words, a couple of times on purpose, but most of the time I didn't really mean to be that mean. I once used the argument "Which one of us gets Bs" to a friend in a group project when we debated how to write the assignment, even knowing that she is insecure about her Cs and lower grades. I just meant to use it as evidence to why we should do it my way, not to hurt her. I did apologize and everything, and I realized the second I said it that it was really mean.

Yup! There are Facebook groups for each type (I think, I haven't gone and looked for all 16). There is definitely a Facebook group for NT's, and I presume there are Facebook groups for the other three Temperaments as well.

And I know what you mean. I hated group projects in school, and a lot of that was just "if I have to put up with you people calling me a teacher's pet, then you damn well better listen to me when I tell you what to do so we can all get the best grade possible". >.< And it's...been a struggle, in many ways, to learn how to hold back on what I think about people so I don't hurt them (in the "I love you but dear god you're an idiot" kind of way). It's kind of a constant mental battle, honestly, though the number one way I check myself is to remind myself that if I can't reach my own standards I set for myself, I can hardly deride others for meeting my high expectations of humanity as a whole.

Yeah group projects are the worst. I usually can reach my standards, which is why it is hard for me to understand that others can't. I both learn and think quite fast so for the most part I have to slow down and wait for others to catch up, and I constantly have to remind myself that it is okay, nothing wrong with waiting a bit. Also people learn and work in different speeds and that is not a bad thing, but I do have to stop myself sometimes from getting frustrated because things are moving too slowly ...

I've taken to doing sudoku when I need to 'slow down' and wait for someone to catch up - I suck at math, so it's kind of an "in your face" reminder of my own shortcomings, that still allows me to focus on and participate in the situation at hand.
