Steampunk, obvs.

Most uses of second-person narration.

Zombie apocalypses.

Teen Paranormal Romance.

Totally off topic...

Podcasts. Soap operas/dramas. MMOs.

Oh my fucking god the amount of times people have tried to make me watch J or K-dramas makes me want to strangle things.

Movies. I just can't watch a movie without doing something else at the same time. I get bored halfway and keep losing track of the story because I'm reading random stuff on the internet.

Generally fanfic/books. I only watch like one TV show these days.

I love podcasts (Rooster Teeth and Nosleep are frontrunners).

I wish I could find more good podfic though. :( So I can just listen to those at work as well.

Maybe I should get into audiobooks...

"Confession" type performance art if the audience is too small. Especially if the material is a true story.

Video games.

Most books written in first person.

Most YA literature.

Realistic fiction that is set in modern times and is about ordinary people doing ordinary things.

Comics. I just don't process visual information the "right" way to read them. I can do comic strips, but when there's a whole page of panels I have a hard time following them in the proper order.

Anime & manga.

My friends tried to get me into watching "the classics". And sure, there were one or two anime I enjoyed.

But I never really got into it like they did, and I still feel weirded out when I go to cons.

The fanservice & moe characters were the biggest turn off for me.

I can't get into straight "dramas". Drama plus scifi or horror or superheroes or sometimes action is fine, but plain drama just bores me.

Most currently-airing live action shows.

Superhero comics, anime & video-games. A.k.a. the Geek Trifecta.

Also "Serious Board Games For Adults".

I read some Sandman and some Hellblazer, and there's maybe one or two RPGs I enjoy, and a few anime & manga that I like - but it stops there.

I just feel really awkward trying to get into that stuff. Like there's all this extra knowledge. And most of the people I've met who are into it are either a) elitist and condescending or b) really really intense about it. Or both.

As a woman, as well, I feel really uncomfortable going to cons and comic book shops and video game stores. I just want to crawl under a rock and die.

Interactive webcomics. I just wanna read the story, not click randomly to try and figure out how to advance.

Comic books. Which is weird because I typically love the stories that lie in the pages and I like the art (when it's good) -- the idea of blowing up pivotal moments and hanging them on my wall is one I hope to do someday -- but there's something about comic books as a story-delivery method that I just can't handle.

Manga.

It took me a long to figure out left to right comics, and that's only for ones like Gunnerkrigg Court and Nimona. I have a hard time combining pictures with text.

Probably anime as well, but I haven't ever tried it.
And echoing 2nd person narration.

Comics. They just don't grab my attention - all visual media's the same to a certain extent, tbh; I'd rather read a book or article or listen to an audiobook, podcast or radio show than watch a film or look at art or read a comic. My mind just wanders more with visual media, but I'm worse with comics than anything else.

Podcasts. Comic books, particularly ones based on superheroes. Movies. Youtubers. J-dramas or K-dramas.

Video blogs. Sorry, I'm a non-linear speed-reader.

And if you think you don't need a script or an editor, you're wrong.

Podcasts and sprawling weird interactive "comics."

Just no.

Most movies where the main character spends a lot of time staring into the camera and talking to the audience giving them exposition.

I feel like this mostly only applies to fanfic, but stuff written in 2nd person.

Podcasts

1st/2nd Person RP ("I do this to you" - style)

Most TV, but especially sitcoms. I hate sitcoms, and by extension, most comedy movies. I also have a hard time getting into whatever big new favourite comes through fandom. Or even old but still running favourite. Unless I go buy a pile of DVD season sets up like I did with SPN, if a series is already a season in and/or I've missed substantial bits, I won't even try.

Video games - i.e. console gaming. I have only really gotten through games I could play on a PC. The only reason why I have completed both FF7 and FF8 is because of PC ports.

If you go hide your fanfics in obscure places, I am far less likely to read it. Post it on FFN, AO3 or your journal plz!

Re: Types of media/ways of storytelling you can't get into

Basically every fandom I've ever been in has been an exception to a previous rule. "I don't get/like manga- Oops, this one's great; I'm not into procedurals- Oh, this one's wonderful; Comics aren't my bag- This one's actually earnest and emotional; I don't like first person narrative in fanfic- Yeah, this fic is MADE by the great first person narrative." So I think it's pointless to write off whole types of media. I only end up breaking my own rules and liking what I outlawed in the first place.

Audiobooks and podcasts, because I'm almost always listening to music. If I'm going to listen to anything, I want it to be music.
