I adore their cover of Thrift Shop; didn't know they they had done others, so thanks!

"romance or OTP" nothing like being redundant or reiterative.

Yes, I think you're right here. There is a lot of importance in society as being in a romantic relationship, and that can make people ignore other parts of themselves and other bonds.

Let me play you a song on the world's tiniest violin.

I for one am glad that people can no longer shit on female characters to their heart's desire without at least raising eyebrows.

Re: Thoughts on Bela?

I love Bella for her snark and her skills and her general awesomeness, but all I can say here is good for you! I appreciate that you don't like her, but at least took the time to contrast her with a male counterpart you DO like and examine why there was a difference instead of just hopping on the "she's awful, because she is!" train.

(anon because I'm not usually a crusader for feminism)

False identities can backfire on you and leave other people feeling betrayed. If you're not comfortable identifying on Tumblr the way you do in real life, that's not necessarily bad. But why lie? Why not use a gender-neutral name and not declare anything about your gender identity or sexuality?

I am Bilbo. Wish I could be more like who ever is super outgoing in LOTR. Aragorn?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-19 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's my favorite of the Matt Smith years. That and the one with Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All.

Oh, you think the bread is related?

[personal profile] ex_mek82 2014-03-19 11:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Neh, I just avoid mentioning specific details about me in general, since who/what I am isn't important to what I do. But I can understand where it would be to someone else who wants to describe/tell other people who they are.

That said, pretending who you are is kinda not cool, but eh, ymmv.

(As an aside/semi-unrelated note, none of this identity labeling is new. I remember when people used to do that kind of stuff on their LiveJournals and personal websites, albeit with less self-described (for lack of a better term, sorry) gender/sexual identities and the whole nine yards that's all over these days. I'm old)

Ah, I like this group a bit, but I had not seen this cover of theirs!

Ooh, guessing game!

I'm going for Rizzoli & Isles. Not watched it, but I understand it's a common opinion.

Oh my gosh, an Animal X secret!! I first read it in my teens too, and it's still one of my favourites today, years later (Despite the many things I also don't like about the series.) It's like so many of my guilty pleasures combined. I'm pretty sure I bought at least a couple of volumes of its most recent re-release. I just wish my Japanese was better so I could fully understand the last few volumes.
I also think that the scanlation group dropped it. I've given up checking the website.

Moment you fell in love

(Anonymous) 2014-03-19 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Loosely based on #5. It doesn't have to be romantic love, it can be the moment when you met a friend and knew that you guys were going to get along great. Or it could be a show, object/hobby or pet.

(Anonymous) 2014-03-19 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
The popular trend right now is to be demi[gender], aka you feel like your gender most of the time, except when you don't, and you have no discomfort with your body or dysphoria.

That and conflating your gender and your kin type. You are now astral gender!

The Ramones 'Blitzkrieg Bop' is the best song to start a roadtrip.

Welcome to the internet.

I sadly have no good advice. You're in that shitty situation where jerks make a cute little show into something it's not for the sole reason that they hate seeing people haven't fun. The only option is to get together with a group of like-minded friends, and troll the fuckers out of your fandom. Then post a secret about in a few months.

But Spongebob isn't shitty. That closing theme alone is high art.

TV of the '70s

(Anonymous) 2014-03-19 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
If you're familiar with any of the shows from back then, what are your faves? Or if you're old enough to remember what you watched first-run, what WERE your faves back then?

She was going to hell no matter how good a person she would have tried to be, so why bother? It's not like she was going around punching babies and stabbing kittens for fun.

Insanenoodlyguy's Heavy.
Of course, it makes sense because Heavy is joint-best class.

What about the evil people on here who are actually evil? Would they get good versions of themselves?

(Anonymous) 2014-03-19 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Hi, let me tell you about the Barbary corsairs and the Ottoman Empire's Algiers slave market and the Blood Tax...

I'm very much like Butters, I wish I were anywhere near as badass as Murphy.
