What are some things that happened in your fandom's canon that you prefer to disregard it as ever happening? Things that you personally disregard as being canon.

I kind of want to view the first season of Elementary as a show in itself. Everything that happened afterwards was a nightmare I want to forget.

But I can't, because my hangups about authorial intent are the size of California.

Highlander the later seasons staff, like the 4 horsemen and dark/double Quickening. I don't like it, so I ignore it.

I ignored Sirius's death for the longest time and now I'm not that active in HP fandom.

I don't usually do this. I'm usually a canon is canon and fanon is fanon girl. There are plenty of parts of my fandoms i don't like, but I just enjoy my personal fanon without ignoring that canon exists as canon. However, the last episode of How I Met Your Mother changed that. Its just so different from anything that could possibly have made sense that the show ends with 9x22 for me.

Even though it's debatable if it's canon or not, I'd still rather it didn't exist. It has some nice art though. With the possible exception of Odin Lowe being Heero's father, since I kinda like the idea, I disregard everything about this series being canon in any way. It's just absolute garbage.

I refuse to acknowledge that the Legacy Of The Force series ever existed. After the New Jedi Order ended, everyone lived happily ever after in various ways according to my imagination. None of this terrible shit in LotF, nope.

Everything after Kings of the Broken Wheel in Elfquest, except maybe the first few issues of Hidden Years. Both art and plot just took a huge dive.

The last season of Babylon 5 and Crusade. I can't think of those as the same series.

The final episode of Quantum Leap. Dr. Beckett returned home, dammit.

And only the first three seasons of Buffy and SPN are canon for me.

Sam Wilson was never "Snap" Wilson, he wasn't reconfigured by the Red Skull, that entire retcon didn't fuckin' happen, period.

Ummmm pretty much everything past the timeskip in Naruto. I just hated the way the manga went when it jumped forward a few years.

I also do my best to ignore Sirius's death. Still.

Fandom-Danny Phantom

Phantom Planet never happened. Also, on that note, not exactly DIScontinuity but D-Stabilized happened RIGHT after Eye For an Eye.

The fandom is Elfquest and the canon is the Kahvi miniseries. That shit never happened. Terrible characterization, plot holes, stupid twists. Ugh.

Nearly everything in BSG after the second season. There are bits and pieces that I'm kind of okay with, but for the most part...no.

I couldn't even finish it. It's sad. :(
