I like 'Imagine your OTPs' as prompts and have written ficlets for them, but what you've posted isn't even that. It's just a prompt and belongs on Tumblr or a kink meme.

Can you please explain to me what draws you to write for prompts like that? To me they seem like the fic's already written, so there's nothing for me to do.

I've seen people post just prompts on AO3 before, but usually as part of a collection for an upcoming fest.

...I am so sorry. That's not a fic, that's a prompt. (For anyone who's trying to look it up the way I did: the fic's been deleted, but Google still has it in results.)

why go through the trouble of replacing all the names with "a" and "b"? does it even matter?

That was the McShep one wasn't it? It's since been deleted so at least AO3 seems to be against posting things like that (unless it was voluntarily deleted I guess)

I've come across one of those on Ao3 once as well, they're not inherently bad or anything but they're more suited towards an 'imagine your OTP' blog really.

Oh wow, a fic prompt posted on AO3 as a work? AO3 sure is going downhill faster than I thought.

I thought that was a description, and was wondering why OP was bothered by it. It's so odd that it's hard to muster up any sympathetic irritation.

AO3 use to be the place where all the best fic was found. Now you've gotta wade through the dribble you'd normally find at FF.net just to get anything remotely good. It all sucks so much I've mostly given up on fic unless I get a link to it from a trusted source.

Aw, I often like those little thought exercises and I like cute emoticons. But even so, yeah, that's not really a fic...

I think what's worse is 21-words of deliberate badfic getting posted and then getting- *checks* 29 kudos, though. ಠ_ಠ

SGA, I'm guessing? That's not Tumblr style stuff [copyright], cause people mos def did that on LJ with those random commentfic things. I get feeling like it shouldn't be posted out of context because it's not standalone fic but at the same time, it doesn't bother me because people can write what and how they want.
