Seriously, what is wrong with just staying gen in ONE fandom out of all the fandoms you enjoy, if you actively don't want to ship that particular pairing? Can't you get your shipping fix from another fandom if this fandom doesn't have any ships you're okay with?

It only bothers me when they complain about how they don't want to ship this thing but for some reason they "have" to ship it. As if they can't think of anything else to do. It sounds so silly. I have no problem with people who genuinely like shipping in all fandoms because they genuinely find the ships interesting and worthwhile.

Oh, I have imagination. I imagine characters fucking and like to read about it.

That's great! What I don't get is when someone wants to get into something, but feels that if they do, they MUST ship a certain ship even if they don't want to, as if there's no other fannish activity they can engage in. Like, dude? Ship it if you like it. Don't ship it if you don't like it. It's NOT THAT HARD.

That's not what I get from the secret tho

They're not saying "I must ship something and whelp, Wincest is the only thing there." They're saying that they think they'd enjoy the show but they know that they would inevitably wind up shipping Wincest. It's an important difference, I think.

It kind of was the only pairing until Cas showed up, wasn't it?

I probably would have shipped it if I didn't know Destiel was a thing.

Yeah I got into it late too(or actually I watched Supernatural when it aired too, but shipping wasn't a thing I did back then), in a different life I probably would have gone down shipping Sam/Dean... I was sure I'd ship Dean/Cass, but nope Dean/Benny is my prefered ship.

But as with all fandoms, there aren't a lot of ships I refuse to read, I mostly just read stories for the enjoyment of it and I like a lot of different ships for a lot of different reasons.

Oh, Dean/Benny. I love that ship. I need to read more fic for them, but I've strayed pretty far for the SPN fandom this year.

I actually got into SPN after hearing so much about Destiel and for a long time, I couldn't see it (now I can because it seems like they turned the volume up but I still dislike it).

If I had watched it from the beginning (instead of going on the Netflix binge around season 8) I might have...? Glad I didn't, though.

I'm mostly amused by the 'heard so many great things about SPN'. I can't remember the last good thing I heard about it, damn.

After season 9, the "good things" posts really dropped off, huh? I watched it last year around this time and I still remember seeing positive things come across my dash on Tumblr. Not so much when season 9 went on, though.

Yeah, it was all downhill from episode 3 on, I think.

The secret was right before season 2 started, so I would imagine probably before the hype train started going into overdrive, right?

I guess? I don't know how exactly I missed any hype about the show for so long. But, thinking about it, it probably would have been pretty exciting going into season 2.

Maybe they were able to watch without shipping anything? This is one of my fandoms where I don't ship anyone and it's refreshing.

I don't ship in most of my fandoms and it's a nice change (especially for someone who gets too invested in their ship, like me).

LOL, but yeah, I'll admit it (anon) that I ship it. I still prefer it.

Duuude, i totally forgot this used to be the flagship. Oh how times have changed.
