What do you like in fandom that you've gotten the impression a majority here at F!S don't (like A/O/B or Felicity/Oliver)?

I like A/B/O. It isn't my favorite genre/trope but I enjoy them.

Ummmmmmmmmm. I like woobie characters (like super woobie Loki). I like them BAMF too.

Non-canon nicknames used in fic. Though to be honest, I only like it when certain characters do it. Characters who I'd think would totally give out nicknames and it wouldn't be be ooc of them to do so.

Though I do hate it when it is overdone or an utterly ridiculous nickname that doesn't first the character giving it or who it is referring to.

I like proper gender bender fics, ones where a male character gets turned into a female in-story. Where you actually start off with a male character, zap 'em, and ka-pow you have a girl character. And they start using female pronouns.

I think I just pissed off every SJW poster with that. They prefer just taking a male character and pretending out-story they were always a girl (and usually they hardly change dialogue). That is the only time they use female pronouns for a flipped character. In the rare instance the SJWs allow an old school genderbender, they insist the author uses male pronouns and throw a tantrum and harass the author until they change.

I am enjoying Doctor Who and I don't think Moffatt is doing a bad job. I also think RTD did a great job. From what I've seen on FS, you have to criticize at least one of them and complain nonstop about some part of the show.

It's why I've never sought out the fandom. Just going to have fun and enjoy a thing in my corner without constant whinging to ruin it for me, thanks.

I prefered WIPs for some time because I didn't like when stories ended. Now I like completed fics and WIPs equally.

I'm pretty average in my likes... Oh, I love character bashing as long as an author prefaces it with "It's for the sake of the story, I actually like this character, yada yada".

Okay.

1. I actually don't mind the HP Epilogue outside the whole Albus Severus thing.

2. I don't think OCxCanon is inherently a sign that the story is going to be horrible, just a thing that needs a lot of care and skill in planning out. More skill and care depending on how major the canon character is (OC xCanon with the main character tho? Definitely more iffy and very ill advised if you don't want accusations of self insert and Mary Sue.)

People getting bothered and skeeved out "noping" out of a fic where a minor /supporting character or a character that got a small amount of screen time is paired with an OC? Complete mystery to me TBH.It seems so petty and arbitrary like they're just looking at the concept of 'OCxCanon" and thinking its 'instabad'. Like I get not reading if you just don't really CARE but the whole "OMG EW NO" reaction? WTF, dude? What's so "ew" about establishing that said character may have a life outside of other named characters. Personally the idea of "everything must be about named/established characters" is just kinda....weird to me. But , bluh I already went over this yesterday.

3. I like well done Fusion crossovers where the author writes the fusion in a way that makes sense. Honestly I have started to find these kind of crossovers where Person A has always lived in Person B's world (if that's the correct definition) rather than Person A meets Person B type fics. I'm not sure how common this view is I just remember a few people showing dislike for fusions (though seemingly because of overstuffed obnoxious ones. Is Fusion the right word for this? I might be getting it wrong.

4. ...I like a lot of Miley Cyrus's music (although I'm not QUITE fond of the music on the Bangerz album there's a few good ones on there.

I like some A/O/B and I like soulmate, soul-bond, soul-marks, etc. fics. I like consent issues in general (so older/younger characters (but adults) or employer/employee, etc.).

Second POV self inserts. They're a lot of fun and it was the way I got into fanfic, so it will always hold a special place in my heart (even if I no longer read it...or just read it for smutty fics...)

OCs, songfic (in principle) non-canonical nicknames, Darcy. all of that.

I love Thor as a character, but I don't care about Asgard AT ALL and basically want the next Thor movie to be a romantic comedy where Thor goes to Thanksgiving dinner with Jane Foster's family, maybe with some bonus science.

Coffeeshop AUs. Always and forever.

First-person narration. And second-person, too. Sometimes it just works for me.

Character A and B becoming inseparable and/or being in each others mind. Doesn't necessarily need to be romantic, tho. I just like those type of bonds where they keep each other in regard.

I mean, not to the point where they get their personalities sucked out of each other and they act like they will start making out in the middle of the screen at any moment.
