3. I agree! I'm a fangirl, too, although I've grown slightly more reserved with time. There's nothing like squeeing with a group of friends and being obsessed with that shiny new series, as long as you're not annoying anyone. I really don't like how fandom lately seems to emphasize snark and calmness instead of enthusiasm.

9. I just watched it, too, and I feel the same way. ♥_♥ THAT SERIES IS LIFECHANGINGLY INSPIRING!

25. I PROBABLY KNOW YOU, BUT HELL YES TO ANOTHER DENNOU COIL SECRET! And in regards to the actual content, I thought the last scene between the two was good enough for me, as it did hint in their favor. I can understand why you felt that way, though--that pairing is adorable, and it was kind of frustrating that Haraken never said anything in return to her confession.

28. Eh, some things just don't work as long fics or even a longer one-shot. Sometimes a 100 words packs more punch than 1000, especially for those of us that tend to ramble on.

48. Me neither. >.> Metalocolypse because I just don't find any of Adult Swim's original series funny. House . . . well, I've just never been into medical shows. It probably has a lot to do with my mom being a nurse so if I want cool medical stories I can (and have) go to her; and those stories actually happened and have the added bonus of involving someone I know. :D

i care very little for house and its fandom; i also care very little for the metalocalypse fandom. however, to say that the latter show is stupid and unfunny makes me respect to substancially less despite the fact that i have no idea who you are (and at this point, nor do i care, as i've already passed the judgement that i think you're uptight and boring).

Everyone's beaten you soundly about how a drabble, done well, can pack more emotional punch than a full length fic. It's all about personal preferences anyway so like them, don't like them, think they're a waste of time/space/talent or not.

I'm curiously about this respect thing.

What is it with secrets these days that have to announce to the whole wide fucking world 'if you engage in this or that, if you like this or that, if you think this or that [which is automatically in opposition to what you, personally like] that you lose all respect'.

My question to this is a big fat SO WHAT? Why do you feel the need to even try that emotional blackmail shit on people? That's all it is. Blackmail. 'If you do this or say this or disagree with me at any time, I will not like you and lose all respect for you, regardless of whether you are my friend or not'

Which is bogus.

I won't say I lose all respect for people who do this because that would mean to imply that I have any respect for them in the first place.

28. Y'know, I'm kinda getting tired of secrets like this. I dunno, but a lot of people I know who write drabbles write longer stuff as well. I much prefer writing longer stuff, but sometimes a drabble is fun. And honestly, it takes remarkable skill to tell a story in 100 words or so, and that's what a good drabble is.

The distain is pretty interesting. I mean, how is a drabble any different from that "tell a story in five words" game/contest that was going around awhile back. And by "going around" I mean "going around the blogs of Neil Gaiman and Orson Scott Card." Produced some good ones, really.


47. 0.0 I....Ah...Oh... Uh.

You...you broke my brain! Harpo/Chico? I just...I just can't see it. I mean...it would be hilarious, I'm sure (which is where it comes to being really important, I guess), and sure, they were always partners in the movies, and Chico was the only one who could understand Harpo and all...but... I dunno.
Mostly because I've read too much about them as people, and while Chico was hilarious and cool, and even occassionaly disturbingly sexy, he was still kind of a sleazy jerk about a lot of things.

Besides, Harpo and Susan=one of the sweetest love stories I ever read, and with the Marxes, I just can't seperate character from person. Especially in Harpo's case.

But I heart you like WOAH for having a Marx Brothers secret. Rock.

And so it began, the evening ritual as it was time to retire for the night. The DVD of Bleach put back in it's place, a paper plate and soda can tossed out, and new food set out for the cat.

Next, a change of clothes to get more comfortable for the night. That special someone who the late night hours was always so secretly reserved for? A smooth, black and sexy Sony Vaio with screaming-fast speeds on its hard-wired connection to the net.

No new mail. No new forum posts. Only three new LJ entries on one's friend's list.

A rant, a fandomsecrets entry, and a drabble.

A drabble. Of Kingdom Hearts no less! VILE! How did such a piece of blasphemy end up littering one's friendlist! Unfriend the heathen to save one's sanity!

With blood now boiling there was no way sleep would come easily tonight. Something must be done to calm the nerves. Ranting in LJ would do no good. Video games? No, it is much to late for that with sleep drawing near and a movie would simply take too long.

But wait. Of course! All along! The answer right in front, a fandomsecret!

Now what to google. What picture? What image could grasp the emotion, the feeling, the hatred of such drabbles and drabble writers?

A blank piece of paper would be too predictable. A picture from a fandom might stir up assumptions. To hell with it! One can't stand it longer! Just open MS Paint and end this now.

A rattle of keys, it didn't take long. No need to get fancy as long as the message was clear! To all my fellow LJers HEAR MY CALL!

Commit to something substantial, or don't bother at all!

28. I think what makes a good drabble is a good twist ending. I haven't really found many epic or multi-chaptered fics that have made me feel or captured a character quite like certain really good drabbles.

I work hard on my drabbles, but I also don't post hundreds of single 100-word drabbles as separate fics on my ff.net account. If you want to post drabbles, make a drabble collection so that people can read them all in one place. That way it won't clutter up your profile and those who don't like drabbles can avoid them as they are clearly marked. PROBLEM SOLVED SECRET POSTER. :D
