There's a little amount of Matt/Gethin under friendslock at the strictlyslash community, but it's not enough to really interpret all of the subtext during the series.

It's a real shame, especially as that was probably Gethin's best dance.

1. Personally, I love the stuff ♥ Anymore, can't get enough of it, but he wasn't the reason ^^'

11. The way I look at it, everything in the first part of the series (pre time-skip) was so outlandish and overdone that he fits right in. Sure, if he was a real person, I think he'd annoy the shit out of me, but if he was a "real" person, I think it'd be toned down a lot to fit in the real world, if that makes any sense ^^'

26. I am sort-of-kind-of with this secret. I want more sweet girls, that's for sure, but at the same time... sometimes I kind of like the mouthy bitches. They're fun to write -- I just wouldn't ever want to be like them. Also, Yoko and Winry? Sure they can be a bit pushy at times, but they care about "their men" -- I see them more as strong and not afraid to assert it when the situation calls for it (and some comic relief) than fitting that stereotype.

Yeah, but that's the point of tsundere: They're pushy and sometimes mean because deep down they care, and that's what bothers me. Why can't someone be both caring and assertive without showing it through LULZ VIOLENCE?

I agree wholeheartedly with the sentiment. I've never understood the appeal of the hot-tempered girl stereotype. To me, girls like that always seemed borderline-abusive, and in some cases even blatantly abusive.

11. Hate a character all you want, i encourage it, it's the same as loving one IMO, but good God why can't some of you people accept that fact that he was figuratively a HERO. He was vital for the story, he was a catalyst that set them all off and gave them the path to take control of their lives rather than sit back and do nothing. A hero doesn't have to be someone that wins battles over and over again, have loads of muscles and be 'awesome'.
If i knew anyone that was like him, outspoken and ready to do whatever the hell he wanted, fighting for whatever he believed in, and was my age, hell of course i'd think he was a hero.

wtf dude I never said I hated him. I LIKE HIM. And this is exactly why I don't want to voice the opinion, because people get all "RARR YOU CAN'T RECOGNIZE HEROES!! HE IS A PERFECT MANLY MAN!!"

maybe you were inspired by him. And clearly, the creators wanted us to think he was a hero. But to me, blustering around about how great you are while harassing and yelling at people to "inspire" them makes you annoying, not a hero.

The fact that it makes perfect sense for him to do this, being a scared, desperate kid who'd lost his father and always tried to follow after him--that made me like him. A lot. And yeah, he had his good traits--he loved Simon dearly and would do anything for him, and he did have a lot of determination and spirit. But I hate the idea in fandom that he was the GREATEST GUY EVER just because he was "gar."

A hero doesn't have to be someone that wins battles over and over again, have loads of muscles and be 'awesome'.

also, I have no goddamned clue how you got the fucktarded impression that this was what I thought was a hero. hell, this fits Kamina more than any of the characters I would think of as heroes. :[ wtffff.

26. Not to go completely ape shit on you, because I don't know those fandoms, but:

Have you ever thought about that as an entire gender, women tend to far harsher on other women and by extension female characters then we are on men? Not just straight women, because I know a gay girl in fandom who dislikes a majority of the female characters for really, no reason whatsoever and claims it is certain 'faults' in their characters but allows other male characters to have the same faults without disliking them. The female characters that do tend to be portrayed as 'cooler' are always the ones who have more masculine strengths and personalities. There isn't anything wrong with that, but the way in which it shows up is. That if you are a woman, if you have typically girly qualities and strengths then you end up getting called weak, or whiny. But as long as you can be like a guy, but still hot? That's fine.

It's just curious really. That you really can't find ANY female characters in your fandoms that you like^

I do see something wrong with that. It's just such a huge double standard that female characters are only liked if they act like men. That's the complete opposite of a feminist viewpoint, isn't it? I mean that's not to say female characters must have 100% traditionally feminine traits. Not at all. However, it's just silly that the most well-liked female characters are the ones that "act most like men."

One of the reasons I questioned some of the characters on her list is because they're really bashed in fandom for not fitting those stereotypes.

5. I've felt that way, too. It's strangely reassuring, huh? Though admittedly I always feel like the side character, that dorky person in the background who doesn't even get a name in the book, just "the girl said this" kind of thing. XD;

29. Nooo, don't be ashamed! No Doubt was excellent... I miss those days. The songs she comes out with now make me want to punch myself in the face. Holla Back Girl pisses me off soooo much. And Rich Girl. And whatever her other songs are called. =/

42. I love xxxHOLiC and Tsubasa. I'm not sure which one's my favorite, though. But it really bothers me about the hiatuses for the series. And it sucks you can't be more open about your love for it! Hopefully once the series sync back up again we'll get more holic! The two series go hand-and-hand, and I think that's what I love most about them.

Pff, that's not bad. While playing, I realized that I had actually drank more than 17 cups of coffee during a trial. I resolved to do that for the rest of the game, just to outdo Godot. That's my rule.
