39. Personally, I can't choose between the two. They are both awesome. And I suppose it can be hard when most of the fandom fawns over one while the other(nine of 'em) don't get as much love, but really, people are entitled to their opinions. Be sensible.

I'll be honest with you too, but I dislike the OVA as well. But it's not Genis who's going to be shafted.

Think about it long enough, who has just appeared in the fourth episode? Yggdrasill. Genis is going to make his comeback, Mithos and Genis subtext will abound - but who is the one who's going to get shafted you ask?I'll tell you this - his sister Raine who in my opinion is a more interesting character than Genis who in my opinion was very poorly put together when you compare him with other characters who had potential in the game.

Yes they messed up with Marble, and skipped her entirely, but that was simply because perhaps they felt no need to connect with the Cacao/Marble/Chocolat Subplot as interesting as personally found it, could be easily cut out. Colloyd is going to abound because those two are the main characters, Zelos/Sheena is going to be placed into the plot as well as I imagine. There's obviously going to be a lot of focus on the main characters even if it's exaggerated to the point where we could have a lot more interesting battles in the place of that.

Most people shouldn't go watching the OVA anyway thinking that it's going to be the best ever. The story of Symphonia itself was cliche, predictable, and stereotypical, and this is coming from a Tales of Symphonia fan. So why do people think it's going to be any better animated?

Honestly, I will cry if they put in Zelos/Sheena. Colloyd I can understand, as that has some basis in canon, but dfskjadf NOT ZELOS/SHEENA.

Although I' not exactly sure if you're helping, I think you surely would if you explained the errors instead of outright flaming. I don't read much these days, but I review every single thing I read (unless it's so bland I don't have an opinion on it at all), give tips, encourage the good aspects of the author's writing or help however I can.

Also: Slightly off-topic, but I don't think it's the conservatism itself that's bad - if you have personal moral values, you should adhere to them, and conserving your faith keeps a culture alive - but it's the corruption of the religion by the people in it, either for their own personal gain or simply because of a misinterpretation - that is dangerous.

Most major religions were designed to give answers and comfort to an imperfect human race that had none. Even something like Scientology could potentially bring hope to someone, if the people in charge of it weren't extorting its members, harassing/spying on/murdering its critics and ex-members, and generally violating human rights in the worst ways possible. We had this problem with the Catholic church in the middle ages and we're having it with the Protestant and Muslim extremists today. They're taking something that's supposed to be used to help people and turning it into a weapon, and as both a WWJD Christian and a decent human being, that just doesn't fly with me.

45 I personally prefer Natalie over loud-mouth because I just had the impression that she frowned half the time whenever she was on-screen. I usually don't pay attention to them anyway.

47 Heh, I've felt that way lots of time. I don't think it's a bad thing. I especially hate the sucky ones that are so popular because it makes me wonder if my fandom is made up of stupid people who don't care for plot, grammar, or characterization.

39. I don't like Doctor Who as much because I can't watch Tennant. I don't like the way he acts. He's so... twitchy. And he shouts all the time... I can't look at him. I really liked 9 too! I thought he was amazing, and interesting, and subtle enough that I could really believe what he was selling. I don't believe Tennant, ever, because all he does is flail.

49. ahahaha, AGREED! Hellooooo, defined and lovely back! I think I was mid-snarky comment during that scene, and the snark was cut off abruptly and ended in an "ooooooh" once the shirt was ripped off. Mmm. But then he went back to running around acting like a moron, so the hotness faded.

39. 8D I think the problem is that many fans simply like both, and don't feel like getting into the nitty-gritty details of each of their performances. At least, that's how I feel.
