I've read through a couple pages of these secrets after discovering you all a while back. Most of them are hilarious, I love 'em, especially since I'm an ex-fangirl (I purposefully resist fandom now) and can get the humor. However, some of these make me really, really sad.

I love this comm, I think I'll keep lurking, but some are just depressing--the emotional investment and the passive-aggressiveness of airing secrets without, you know, resolving them just makes a really assertive person like me sad. I hope all of you who have sent in sad secrets are feeling better now!

I know everyone has secrets...but why be afraid of what other people think? Seriously, it's the internet; no one can hurt you! Just say what you mean and feel and if you like someone (or hate someone), just be honest and up front and everything will be okay. Anger isn't the end of the world, and if your "friends" are cruel and petty to you (especially over silly fandom), dump 'em. You don't need bad people like that in your life!

Why are so many people passive-aggressive? Why focus on being sad and jealous that you're single (or that you broke up with someone) when you could just go out and put some effort into dating?

... wooooow. In all honesty, if you HAVE been lurking for a while, then shouldn't you already have the answer to those last two questions? People are just as weird and quirky on the internet as they are in real life, they just express it in different ways. Emoticons and variations on font and capslock or lack thereof replace screaming and hugging and perhaps punching someone in the face. You make do, which gives rise to a lot of the passive-aggressiveness you see around, imo.

Especially that last question - it's not really always that easy, and that has less to do with the internet and more to do with just .. people being people.

That said, I understand a lot of where you're coming from. ): lol internet?

36 - Ugh, I know this problem--I really felt that way through most of high school. It happened to a friend of mine as well, because she was 5 years my junior, and she was so intellectually advanced: her surroundings were suffocating her. At the time, all I could tell her was to be patient because things would change due to inevitability--and really, it does change once you leave school. I think someone was wiser to say up in the comments to try seeking the change yourself--perhaps expand your interests, throw yourself into a fandom, or something. I dunno--it's a complicated situation. =\ Guess I still don't really know what to say about it.

But I'm secure enough in my atheism to know it's not because I want to be religious, so maybe I'm just simply fascinated by their devotion. I dunno.

I like the OVA a lot. It actually made me like Lloyd because I didn't really care for him much in the game. But I suppose I can sympathize with you. Turning games into an anime series is bound to make some people unhappy. Reminds me of books -> movies.
