I've been under the impression for some time now that most SRS FANS share your opinion. I don't, but the sentiment feels strong enough that I've been careful not to mention this in fannish company for years. The comments on previous pages would seem to justify all of the above.

61. I had the same thought, and I'm not even in the Angel fandom. But that's my reaction to many, many secrets.

"Why is your shipping preference or benign opinion a secret, at least a strong portion of the fandom feel the same way, are you keeping it secret from a specific person or are you phenomenally shy or are you a LYING LIAR who LIES about their SECRETS and LIES rabble rabble rabble."

Then I claw at the screen for a while. But then I chill out.

35. OH MY GOD!!!! I HAD A FEW OF THOSE WHEN I WAS GROWING UP! <333 I never read the whole series but I have read at least three of them and I really enjoyed them! I remember one of them was a rocker girl who had punked out hair and played drums and called her Mom and Dad 'M' and 'D' XDDD she was cool!

58: I also cried while reading it... for multiple reasons. It was sad and I try to accept what most other fans say ("This was the only way it could have ended") but I can't help being disappointed. The last three books were a rushed by King so he could just get it done and it breaks my heart. The comics are giving me some faith though.

58. I didn't sit down to read the series until it was completely over and done with, and didn't actually do it until last month, but I didn't think things really FELT rushed, myself.

Though the King self-insert subplot was a little weird.

Oh, and to clarify twenty-eight: I was only really interested in wathcing the show because I was under the impression that Kurama and Hiei got together, which I "learned" from a friend who had gathered this information through fanfic and fanart. I wasn't really all that interested in otherwise; I liked Kurama and Kuwabara a bit, but not nearly enough to sit through the rest of the boring stuff. Once the promise of an actual factual gay couple fell through, I just didn't care anymore. :P No, that doesn't make us yaoi brats. Not IMHO, anyway. I just wanted some canon gay. Same reason I watched movies like A Touch of Pink and all, anyway.

OMG someone else actually likes him??? I feel like I'm stuck in the 90's when I listen to the one CD of his that I have (Light and Colour) but it is such a wonderful feeling. Even though I didn't listen to anything until a few years ago, I still love his music, so catchy.

Visions of Boys is my favorite though.

I should put that cd back on my iPod one day. ^____________^

20. Too lazy to log in, but I just had to reply to this secret.

First of all, I can completely understand how embarassed you feel about being an anime/manga ("weeaboo" is usually seen as a derogatory term, so I won't use it, though I'm not sure if you yourself used it in a positive or negative sense) fan, as well as feeling like having a "mediocre" series like One Piece under your belt only adds to your shame. Ever since I first got into anime and manga around the time I started junior high, I always felt really awkward about liking it because I felt it made me seem like such a nerd and an outsider. I had little to no friends that were into it either, so I could never talk to them about a certain show or manga I was into because they either didn't care or would give me weird looks.

As time went on though and I got older, I decided something as simple as a unique interest in what others don't usually take a second glance at shouldn't keep me from being cut off from friends. If they didn't like what I like, then, what kind of friends are they? I made friends that were accepting of my interest and even made some that I could talk to about the newest manga or anime series. I still have a little lingering sense of embarassment, but that's mostly due to the fact that I've gotten older and feel so weird liking this stuff going on 9 years now. And of course, you always get the occasional "lolol you like One Piece SET FAIL" but they don't put em down since they're just ignorant twats. :|

tl;dr There is no way you should feel guilty for liking One Piece or being a ZoSan fan. How can you feel embarassed about something you LOVE? That's just so deeply sad in many ways and I would hate to see a fellow fan go through so much pain over nothing. Remember this, there are people JUST LIKE YOU that adore this series and every little thing that has to do with it, and we do not judge you. It's so hard to find people that have a genuine interest and heart-felt appreciation for One Piece, but when you do find those fans, they make everything worth it. I speak from experience. I LOVE MY FELLOW ONE PIECE FANS. They assure me I'm not the only nut-job that cries over ships and sappy backstories and skeletons.

Also, I'm totally with you on blaming Zoro and Sanji. They are totally my two favorite characters (and logically, my favorite pairing ♥) and make this series SO DAMN ENJOYABLE FOR ME. Not that I don't enjoy the series at all, I do IMMENSELY, but they crank up the volume from 11 to about... 50. xD;
