The Dresden Files was NOT a Sci-Fi Channel original series. No, I don't care what they say. It was based on the book series by Jim Butcher.

The "Sci-Fi Original Series" doesn't mean it's their idea, just that it was their exclusive production, not a syndication from another channel. Stargate SG-1 was taken from... Showtime, I believe? Stargate Atlantis is a Sci-Fi Original, because the series has always been produced and shown by Sci-Fi.

I'm pretty sure they actually say "based on the books by Jim Butcher" in the title sequence.

Copypasta from wiki: Jim Butcher released the following statement on his website bulletin board in response to fan criticism of the changes: "The show is not the books. It is not meant to follow the same story. It is meant as an alternate world, where the overall background and story-world is similar, but not all the same things happen. i'm in high school (11th grade ot be precise). i'm not some super-popular cheeleader prep, but i have plenty of friends. some of them like anime, some of them hate it, some of them don't exactly understand what it is.

all of them know i like it, though. i've worn bleach and YYH t-shirts to school. they see me reading manga. the "weeaboos", as you seem to think all anime fans are, all know i like one piece. some of them agree and some of them are all "lol how can you like that shit" but they all still like me.

whether or not you read/watch one piece should have NOTHING to do with whether or not people like you. if it does, you need to get different friends.

or at least go to a different school. or SOMETHING. because it's really sad that you think you can't be yourself without being mocked.

i mean, yeah, being realistic i know if i were a total freaking weeaboo who never shut up about how TTLY AWESOME THE MUGIWARA KAIZOKU-DAN DESU was then i might get on people's nerves. but becoming a "laughing stock"? for just liking a series?

35. HOLY CRAP GIRL TALK! I still think about that dress thing Sabrina? wore in the first book, yellow with flowers. And when Allison became a model and Stacy was nice to her! And when Randy did something shocking at a lunch table! I don't remember exactly what it was, but I remember everyone's reactions! I only got the first four or five books, though; my mom wouldn't buy anymore. And Sabrina's room was really cool, and she had a poster of Tom Cruise above her bed! I too was burned out on slash (I blame SGA -- the John/Rodney XTREME OBSESSION in fandom eventually made me ill, probably because I loathe Rodney), but Torchwood has been like a healing balm or something. 52. Maybe because he's a real life political figure. He's not a fictional character or an actor or a singer. Those people we expect fanfiction, cosplay, fan songs and the ilk. Not so for real life political figures who are supposed to be above all this and be all business.

yes, yes I am very late. My friend told me about it like...a million years ago I swear, but I never got to it untill recently.

yeah, there is a lot of metaphors and crap in it, which I'm not sure if I like or not, but whatever D: It's just that shoujo series like this have a tendancy to make the lead female fall for THE biggest jerk in the series, an I have no idea why, but I hate it.
