LOL I HAVE SEEN THAT PICTURE WAY TOO MUCH

[identity profile] hamburger.livejournal.com 2008-03-22 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
3: Whenever I see him all I can think is GIANT PICKLE.

17: Very much agreed. That scene in the movie touched me very deeply. Which was odd because it's hardly the first time Homer and Marge have split up ... but somehow it never quite got to me as much as it did then.

59: It's subjective, like many many many many MANY things in life. People aren't going to all be pleased by the same thing aesthetically. I think crops like that are pretty darn neat, personally. But I don't expect everyone to.

59

[identity profile] haloradio.livejournal.com 2008-03-22 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
I disagree. We have great masters because there's standards on artwork that's pleasing aesthetically; even if people aren't exactly sure why they like it. Things like focal points, grid design, and composition all come into play when you're looking at any sort of anything with artistic merit. You can't just say that "we aren't going to be pleased by the same thing, that doesn't make it not good" unless said thing that's not good is making some sort of statement. Is there any specific reason you find it aesthetically pleasing, or anything that the artist did to make it obviously so? Otherwise your point is moot.

15- YAY Yellow Submarine!

17- Wow. I wish I could be big and say that I've seen this movie, but I actually avoided it, thinking it was just a moneymaker (not that any movie isn't ideally a moneymaker, realistically).

29. No idea, but a) I love "lay that like hardwood flooring" and b) I'm in a similar fandom predicament. :D

40. LMAO

43. Picspam of your pen0r should set everything right.

46. I called Mohinder/Sylar with having seen only one episode of Heroes.

Thank you, F!S.

53. They see how glorified Japan is in anime and manga and, because fandom endears you to everything about itself, fall in love with the Land of the Rising Sun/Period Stain.

58. Phallic award is phallic. (What's with the penis today? Did Dr. Ruth write these secrets?)

70. Whoa whoa whoa. How does Tori Amos link to Neil Gaiman? Did he mention "Father Lucifer" in Coraline or something?

Dude, now I like his work even more. Even if I've only read Coraline.

My friend came up with 'lay like hardwood flooring'. I don't mind if THEY know, but some of the people I know in fandoms (especially anime fandoms) would consider me gross for liking such an older man.

HAHAHAHA MY ICON'S ON THERE.

But for serious, I only iconed that picture once right after it was posted and never touched it again. Didn't need to. XD

So yeah, in other words, I agree so hard. You don't need 90000 variations on that thing.

[identity profile] monochroma.livejournal.com 2008-03-22 09:42 am (UTC)(link)
Or at least, the icons could all have slightly more substance than crop and colour.

There is ONE reason I'm avoiding that scan like the plague aosidjflksjdff. The problem is Code Geass iconists and CLAMP iconists, while technically all somehow in the same fandom, only stick to iconning either CG or CLAMP. And CLAMP iconists are the ones who're awesome and doing more elaborate and less boring icons from...CLAMP art.

CG iconists are too used to crop&colour, due to the mostly-anime-screencaps thing going on.

Woe ;;. I sound like an elitist iconmaker...which I probably am, omg what

Hahahahaha, Ba'Gamnan!! Yay! Seriously, I agree with you. I want to write more stories where he and Balthier just keep trying to one up each other. I want to know why he hates Balthier so much (other than the fact that Balthier is the awesomest ever).

But I would probably cry and cry and cry if I ever see Ba'Gamnan/Anyone in fic. I can't make that leap.

What is it about this kink meme that's so intrusive and aggravating? I think I've seen it pop up here and there on the comms I'm in but I never gave it a second thought. I assumed it was just a fest for people to write kinky porn and not be embarrassed. Which is great. So what is it really, then?

2. Yeah, I'm with you. ::pulls up a chair::

46. "Mocha arms"? Oh, god. I apologize, but I laughed.

65. :( I hope you decide to do it. Curves are lovely. (And call me shallow but I personally find them downright pleasing after watching Hairspray.)

[identity profile] graziaplena.livejournal.com 2008-03-22 12:43 am (UTC)(link)
46. I've ranted on Fanficrants before regarding writers and their descriptions of Mohinder and his skin-tone. When they're not calling him "the Indian" over and over and over again, they're likening him to a piece of food.

I mean, he's yummy, but he's not, you know, yummy.

this has been a PSA.

Re: 37

[identity profile] lauraorganasolo.livejournal.com 2008-03-22 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
The irony is that one of the characters pictured there is canonically crazy MPD, basically. It's actually the authors' fault (LOL CLAMP) in this case, not stupid RPers.
