53 - ...well, I don't know about other people, but I find Japan fascinating because of all its nuances, positive or otherwise. It's one of the more interesting cultures for me, personally, to learn about. It's not that I think they're a perfect culture, it's that I think it's NOT a perfect culture. That's what interests me about Japan. I like Japan and find it interesting; I don't think all weeaboos believe that Japan is this perfect place. I mean, there are a few crazies everywhere, but I think the people who are like OH AND I WANT TO MOVE TO JAPAN IT'S SO MUCH BETTER are just being facetious, for the most part.

Because Paprika was eligible for a nomination in 2007, NOT 2008. It had it's premiere in '07, it just didn't get a wider theater release until '08. The only anime eligible this year was Tekkonkonrit. Not to say it didn't deserve a nomination in '07 but yeah.
