12. I do too. I know it was intentional by the writers as a HERE'S YOUR ANGST moment, but the way Iroh sang the song was enough for me to know that there was true emotion in there. And the fact that its dedicated to Mako at the end just makes it that much more heart wrenching. Iroh is an amazing character and one of the best written ones of the series, I think.

13. She is an amazing artist and an amazing girl. She's gotten me to do things I never thought I would, and I have her to thank for playing Earthbound and making it the emotional experience it was. I'm so glad to see that some one else thinks she's just as awesome. ^^

WHY do people do that? Whenever I hear about it, I cringe so much and just don't want to be associated with any of them, or the fandom at all.

The closest I came was asking the Buffy Geek Trio at a con what their interpretation of Warren and Andrew's relationship was, because it was rather 'ambigious'. Which is a lot different to "HEY GUYZ I WROTES PRON ABOUT YOU WANNA READ???"

For the record, had you read the ENTIRE post (which I have), or if you knew the context of the conversation, or if you knew had seen the interview with Zach and Sendhil where THEY SUGGESTED Sylinder the sitcom, then you might not find this so repulsive. It was a passing comment, and NOT anything about gay porn. The logic leap between the quote and the rant is a bit large for me. Wtf?

They all had a wonderful time at the dinner, they were NOT disgusted by her, they met up again later in passing, and her Sylinder the Sitcom is a COMEDY, not a porn fest. She is NOT a rabid sex-driven fangirl, and I this fandomsecret incredibly unfair and borderline slander.

29. You have blown this way out of proportion. First off, it's not porn, it's a sitcom, the idea for which the actors themselves came up with. It was a natural thing to mention, given the conversation, and the actor did not appear to be offended or freaked out. As a general rule, yes, telling a celebrity you write porn about them or their friends is strange and rude. Saying that she expanded on a cracky thing talked about in an interview is very different.

Have you checked out Yuletide (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/)? There was actually a decent amount of Smoke fic posted this year, and I was so happy XD;. There's also a Tony/Lee smut fic on LJ somewhere that I can probably find. Um, Smoke and... is like my favorite obscure fandom ever, and when I finished the books I LJ-seeked and googled all over the place to find fic.

Also del.icio.us might have some new recs since I last checked - I haven't bothered to scour the internet in a few months, and a few new ones always seem to pop up in the meantime. Happy hunting! (And I know you're anon but feel free to friend me if you want, we Smoke fans need to stick together)

38. Well, there's a reason I don't get an AMV.org account. Too many people are just too goddamn lazy to make their own videos and if you put up AMVs with nice footage and no subtitles, they'll be on it like starving bees on honey. I'd rather people buy the DVDs for things themselves, rip them on their own, and spend ungodly amounts of hours making their own clips and sequences, than freely being able to take what I did and then take CREDIT for it, on top of that.

I'm aware they can also get videos off of YouTube in a roundabout way, but at least in that sense they're not getting the really good footage and they'll have to deal with the tiny YouTube version and crappy graphics.

29. Yipes. o.o i'm glad i have both parts of the story for that one (i think the girl who won the dinner is in the right on this one), but the same thing happens to voice-actors all the time. they joke about it, and we laugh, but you know it makes them uncomfortable. >> it's sad.

#27: I liked her character quite a bit and...I can see where you're coming from. I tend to suspect a lot of the porn surrounding her imp form is kind of an overlap with aspects of furry fandom (especially given how often it's *wolf* Link involved) - but I have heard the alternative, which is a subset of fans who dislike the mellowness of her real self and dig the imp personality better. Midna does carry a certain flirty sensuality about her even as an imp, which is more likely than not a reflection of who she was before the curse, so it's not entirely unfounded why people see it in her. Odd by my tastes, but...fandom has done much worse.
