1. You know, every now and then I think about reclaiming the quality of mercy that I lost around year three of my Ph.D. program and changing my extremely tough make-up policy. Then I read stuff like this and remember why I have the policy in the first place.

15. Okay. There's nothing wrong with shipping LightxMisa. They're both hot and look hot together. But, going out and actively searching for someone to be the "Light to your Misa" isn't healthy. Light is an asshole. With brain problems. Misa worships him in a very unhealthy way. I worry.

64. I've noticed the ones that actively screech and stalk people for liking yaoi/yuri usually have a lot of drawings/fics that are copied right from a yaoi/yuri artist's work. So, sometimes I wonder about the ones that seem just to be a little TOO loud about this sort of thing too.

U-u-um, it wasn't really actively searching? It's more like ... He admires Light, and I'm the only one who really humors him and goes along with his plans. That, and he dragged me into roleplaying Misa with his Light for a while.

I hope it's not unhealthy - perhaps just a typical case of heartbreak. ^.^;;;

If you are a freak than so am I. I have been enthralled by pregnancy stories for as long as I can remember (only female pregnancy though). I definitely see why you might keep it as a secret. I am not especially loud about my obsession but anyone who reads my fanfiction can figure it out for themselves. There are some vocal fans out there who seem to think that pregnancy is anti-feminist... I don't get the argument, personally, but I don't care. Write and read what you want. There are plenty of fans who like pregnancy stories.

02. Really? I write comedy fanfiction for Homestar Runner, and I don't feel presumptious at all. Probably because I just think of it as letting the character do their thing. If they're not funny, they're not IC.

2. I'll admit, these days, I almost never read straight-humor fics, usually because they're pretty awful. But ever now and again, you find one that really gets the voice of the characters down.

12. Honestly, I don't think it was a cheap shot, because I think there was appropriate build-up. Emotional scenes can always feel contrived if you want to stand back, even the really good ones. But that particular one was very well-done. Avatar's been pretty great with balance.

34. You know, I don't even like the show that much, but I love him. I think it's great to see a practising Catholic (who's fairly open about it) with such a great sense of humor regarding himself and establishment of just about any kind. I was raised Catholic (I'm still Christian), and it's just...well, it's a bit inspiring. Go, Colbert, go! Prove that not everyone who's religious is a jerk!

38. Okay, I can understand why you'd think less of people posting vids that aren't theirs, but goodness, why would it get under your skin that they use YouTube for their own vids? I mean, really now, they're just making their work accessible to people who like it.

45. We less than three you too! Well, I have no idea who you are, or if we're friends, but, you know... This secret really makes up for a friend of mine who refuses to watch Doctor Who because she became a "Doctor Who widow" in her terms, when her gf got addicted to the show. But really, it's a fandom with a lotta love, it really is.

64. Uh-huh. Y'know what...I just don't like yaoi. I never did. When I first encountered it, my friends were obsessed with it, to the point that it was the only kind of romance they liked, and they're fandom contributions got very graphic (I still remember being more-or-less tricked into reading my first lemon-fic). And I hated it, and I hated that it was such a big screaming deal. It really did disgust me.
These days, I've just learned to accept it because it's bloody everywhere, and to avoid the bits that disgust me. I just don't like gratuitous stuff. Not all slash is. But yaoi...almost always is (by which I mean that when people say "yaoi" they almost always mean more graphic. IME).

I'm not in the fandom, so I don't really know what goes on... but ever since seeing Proops at the MICF in 1996, I think he's sexy as hell. I think it's his brain more than anything.

Still, they're prolly less annoying than DAAS fangirls :)

I totally feel for ya, dude. He's the only reason I watch that show. I'd hit it like it was going out of style.

While I saw all these people saying the "u" plus "a" equals "v", I've never heard it myself -not that it means anything, as I admit I'm quite out of practice in my Japanese-.

I've seen both "Ishball" and "Ishvall", and I actually have a good reasoning to consider that it should probably be "Ishbal". I always assumed that "Ishbal" made more sense simply because a god and kingdom in the Bible was called "Bal". That's just me though.

Actually, a "u" with dakuten equals "v". It's an artificial construction, and one many Japanese speakers can't pronounce well, but the usage of "va" rather than "ba" means that yes, it was a V that was intended.

Also, the name was derived from the Hindu word "Ishvara"; your observation is an interesting one, too, though. (And since it's hard to convey emotion over the interwebs without the help of icons, I meant that seriously and not snidely.)
