Animemusicvideos.org might be free, but some people don't want others downloading their videos--they'd rather they just watch them on a hosted site, not have them to do whatever they want. (And yeah, it's possible to rip them, but that happens much less frequently.) Also, you have to download a lot of programs that are confusing, not user-friendly, and are unsupported by some computers just to upload videos. And from my experiences, most of the people there aren't very nice. If I'm going to get completely unhelpful comments and no concrit whatosever either way, I'd prefer 'lol this rocks!' to 'you suck and this sucks'. I'd welcome actual concrit, but I didn't get that on either site. So yes, I definitely favor Youtube, and I haven't uploaded any of my newer AMVs to the org. I will get around to at some point, but Youtube is a much better experience all around, so I'm in no hurry.

I do agree with you about the posting videos that aren't your own and not saying anything, though. That's infuriating. (And part of why I'm reluctant to have my videos on the org...it's much easier for people to do this with my videos, and it has happened! They said they got them from the org when I confronted them.)

Hear, hear! I upload my AMVs to Youtube, but I also upload them to generic file sharing sites and keep links in the video descriptions. I'm fine with downloading, because the compression on Youtube is pretty blech, but AMV.org? Oi, so pretentious! I won't deny that there are lots of very talented editors there (some of my favorites, actually), but most of the user base is very "you don't want to be like those other AMVers who complete projects in less than 100 hours, do you? Do you, weakling?" I refer to the tutorials a lot, but that's about it these days--most members are so fixated with making editing a ~*science*~ that I feel like they've missed the fun part entirely.

I'm all for helping people improve through concrit (I've been in the market for a 'second second opinion' beta for ages), but the constructive part is so critical there. I'll stick to Youtube, kthx D:

Definite agreement about Youtubers who upload other people's AMVs, though (I've had my stuff swiped like that before. Mislabeled and uncredited, too! I was tempted to add a watermark after that >_>). I saw one user with one video, an extremely popular AMV that wasn't theirs (and they said as much in the video description).
...over eighty subscribers. Yeah.

I just found the lead-up to the killing creepier somehow. Plus the fact that the stabbity-stabbity seems to involve more rage and sustained violence than just chucking someone in an oven. The graphic burning in the movie still freaks me out, but... in a different way, I guess.

29. Wow. I haven't seen the original post or anything, but man. The sad thing is that I'm not surprised. I went to a Heroes event once, and the people sitting behind me were so ridiculously rude, calling out all sorts of things and generally acting childish. I felt like I needed to be embarrassed on their behalf. And this girl probably paid tons of money to have dinner with these actors, only to make them uncomfortable and make a fool of herself? Man, way to give fans a bad name.

Yay, Sweeney-revival!

I liked the revival more than the movie... and nearly as much as the original. The deaths were so much creepier.
