I'm gonna be honest in a way only anonymous can.

I love the hell out of her Sephiroth/Riku. It's not something I ever thought about about. But now I think of it kind of like this:

Sephiroth:Cloud/Zack:Tifa/Aeris::Riku:Sora:Kairi

Only shit doesn't go terribly HORRIBLY wrong. And that makes me happy.

It's also awesomely Greek and Sephiroth is (why am I about to say this) a better influence than Ansem and Maleficent. Who badtouched the hell out of Riku pretty much in canon. At least in this, Riku has some choice and it gives him a better role model than the skeezy green lady in it for the real estate and SUBMIT TO THE COCK DARKNESS man.

Also, Sephiroth as Riku's dad? What the fuck are you people smoking?! He'd have to be in Destiny Islands and he'd have to, y'know, be fucking women.

... Could Sephiroth even have human kids? He's like 98% Jenova. Do I want to think about this? Actually, no, I don't. But ew, Sephiroth is no one's daddy... Except in the "leather" sense.

That secret is the kind of thing that makes all those "I SHIP IT" secrets secrets.

I really do think interaction between them might be really interesting, but sex? No thank you. I know they go through a lot in those games, but still, pairing up Sora or Riku or Kairi with any of the older characters just... kinda squicks me. (I have the exact same problem with Cloud/Sora.)

And really, as much of a polyshipper as I am, for me, Riku will always belong with Sora and Kairi, and Sephiroth with always belong with Zack and Cloud. And never the twain shall intersect.

Also, I'd REALLY much rather she work more on Mascotverse instead.

Amen to that, anon! I like the Blood series just fine (not so much Blood Ties TV... no Vicki-Sue and dark-'n-broody Henry, please), but I love the Smoke series to no end. Because Tony is so my hero. ♥ It's really too bad they cut him out of Blood Ties, but they might have played up the checkered past to make him more "interesting" anyway. Sigh.

Also, while I'm at it, does anyone have any Smoke and... recs that aren't in the Yuletide archive? I went through all the fics there in one night, and I need more!

I have more or less the same background you do with regards to exposure by fandom to homoerotica, and yet I was blown away by just how pretentious your secret was. Whether you like it or not, people who don't like homoerotica do exist, just like heterosexual and asexual people.

My secret was not trying to imply that not liking slash means that you're sexually repressed, and I apologize if that's the way it came off.

After all, 'not liking' =/= 'loudly proclaiming how disgusting it is'.

I was mainly talking of the "ZOMG SLASH/YAOI/YURI IS EVIL GO DIE IN A FIRE" fanbrats that I've been encountering fairly frequently on DevArt and FF.net.

20. Uh, it's called Ishbal in the anime - at least the dub. When I talk to people about the anime, people I watch the anime with, I'm going to call it by that name.

If I'm talking about the manga, it's different though. Using the various terms is one of the ways I differentiate which story I'm talking about.

You're absolutely right. Two websites that mention a type of fanart is ENTIRELY TOO MANY. Options are bad! Almost as bad as choosing for yourself what to do with your work!

Besides, this fandom isn't NEARLY incestuous enough! Occasionally new people start making AMVs, and we can't have that. We need to control the hobby so tight that people start viewing it as a holy fucking calling. After all, it's not like there's bad fanfic or bad fanart or that bad examples of anything are part of life. It's special to AMVs, like a magical snowflake made of suck, and it's all because of YouTube.

Plus the totally vapid 'omg this roxxors' reviews are fun sometimes, although I appreciate the reviews I get on amv.org a hell of a lot more because I can actually learn from them.

I absolutely agree with you about posting videos that aren't your own though. That's completely low, because even if you SAY it isn't yours, people still go 'lol u did such a good job on this omg' because no one ever reads the text in the sidebar.
