27) It's the protective glasses, isn't it? 'Cause that's what usually triggers the 'LOL ITZ BONO' thoughts. Oh and Sheppard's chin. They have the same chin.

I semi-agree. There really was no way for the love triangle to end up non-annoying since Arath is a terrible character.

Really it's been going downhill for a while now. I still read it, though, so who's the idiot here. XD

Re: 50 [OP]

(Anonymous) 2008-03-31 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
I semi-agree with your semi-agreement because I kind of like Arath. :) I just hoped that the triangle issues (any of them: Collin's feeling about Fox's flirting, Arath maybe having a crush on Collin etc.) would've been handled on-screen, even if the conclusion would've been sickeningly sweet F/C. All we got was the author/artist saying that yeah, they talked. Show, not tell, damn it!

But you're right, no one is forcing me to read it either. Wish I could quit it but... XD

26. I... like both of them, but I don't ship either pairing? Wry. But I can see your point, though. Fun fact! I just got to the point that explained the two girls were sisters. I'd have been SO SPOILED an hour ago. Ahaha.

39. Eh, quite frankly, the lesbians always bored me, but anyone could see they were only going to be temporary characters, right?

...Right?

41. I can't say much for the fandom, but differences in opinion =/= not belonging in fandom?

53. Quite frankly, I think it'd take half the fun out if it were to become canon. And also, CLAMP won't let them be happy for long if they were. Dubious friendship > death after having found love. orz.

I would LOL and go "Wasn't it kind of obvious?" but that would make me a huge hypocrite, because up until Edgeworth told me about Dahlia's death, I thought they were THE SAME PERSON. So I was spazzing out whenever Iris was onscreen and going, "Aaaah! Don't trust her! No!"

Fandom blows the Remus/Sirius subtext out of proportion completely. It's there, but it's not OMG SO undeniably obvious that JKR had to cover it up. The conspiracies regarding JKR's homophobia are annoying. What's more annoying is that they persist even after she outed Dumbledore.

11. You're not alone. Honestly, who likes Show!Harry better?

15. SO. TRUE. Wait, that is Juror #8, right? He's far less creepy in the play, though. But in the movie, he so comes across as one of those nice-guy types who's SEKRITLY EBIL.

18. That ain't a secret. That's just pointless giggling over that photo thing.

47. I'd love to see that author writing non-parody stuff. Damn good grasp of atmosphere. You can see the goodfic trying to get out!

66. Personally, I think Remus is bi, but he did love Sirius more. He liked Tonks as a friend, maybe enough to date her, but... it obviously didn't really work out. Maybe he really did love her, but we never got a chance to see, because he kept getting rushed into things and it made him go over all prickly. Poor thing-- he's all, "I'm a werewolf! I can't do this sort of stuff!" And everyone just drags him along. Have some patience with him, people!

38, 50

[identity profile] oceanica.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 11:04 pm (UTC)(link)
38) O RLY?

50) I... sorta agree with you. FH has been getting steadily less awesome. Ever since... well, I think ever since we learned Bootsie's real name. I think that was about the point when it just really died.

But as far as the Arath/Collin/Fox thing goes, I'm glad she didn't turn it into yet another love triangle. Not every pairing goes through something like that, and it was a huge plot arc in her last comic, so I like it that she didn't try to rehash the same thing in this one.

Re: 50 [OP]

(Anonymous) 2008-03-31 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I suppose you're right.

I'm just annoyed because nowadays Fox & Collin are so boring: now we know that nothing will ever threaten their relationship. It's realistic, yes, but not so exciting to read about. :P At least she could've shown if Arath really had a crush on Collin or not and if yes, how did he handle it (badly, I'd think *g*).

Re: 14

[identity profile] repeatvoffender.livejournal.com 2008-03-30 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
What if it's a fan that likes it for the crack aspect, and cringes at all the fangirls who think it's "OMGSOCANON" giving us a bad name? Ignoring that those fangirls make up the majority of fans for that pairing...

I don't know... I got into it for the awkward and 'the lulz' and I never really expected it to blow so much out of proportion. It was a crack pairing to start with.

Argument has been going on forever

(Anonymous) 2008-03-30 11:09 pm (UTC)(link)
OP of the very first secret in the chain here. I'm sorry the reaction to my secret drove you crazy, mods. I just wanted to clear up some things.

-On the subject of foreigners: If it's not licensed in your country, you should consider it not licensed. I don't see anything wrong with you downloading something like that.
-On the subject of fansubs: They're not evil. I've seen plenty, both VHS and torrent. But I buy what I watch, and so should you.
-On the subject of being poor: I don't exactly approve of this excuse, even though I know its validity. Maybe you should restrain yourself to unlicensed series? This is a more difficult one to approach than the others, I'll give you that. I once had a friend that gave this excuse, and I tried to discourage her from downloading licensed series and gave boxsets as gifts, but it wasn't good enough discouragement, so maybe it's just not solvable.

If your nationality and financial circumstances make it possible for you to go down to the store and buy whatever you want, please do so.

Re: Argument has been going on forever

On the subject of fansubs: They're not evil. I've seen plenty, both VHS and torrent. But I buy what I watch, and so should you.

What if it's really, really bad? I'm really grateful I could watch Chobits online, so I'll never have to waste money on something I dislike so much.

Generally, that's how I see downloading - as a way to sample things so I know which ones I want to buy.

On the subject of being poor: I don't exactly approve of this excuse, even though I know its validity. Maybe you should restrain yourself to unlicensed series?

I also think that downloading the really popular ones (like Naruto, Bleach, and the like), is a lot less harmful since they're made by large companies (who make extreme amounts of money mostly from merchandise) that are less hurt by downloading.

50. If you were honestly exited by the prospect of, hoping for, or expecting Colin/Arath, it probably is better you stop reading - There are some things that it's just clear are not going to happen in that comic and if that bothers you, why should you stick around? This concept in fandom that because one's started reading/watching a work, one has to see it through to the end no matter how much personal annoyance comes of it is completely nonsensical.

59. Yay, new opera lover! Just a quick note, though: Opera, like television, is a medium, not a genre.

Re: 50 [OP]

(Anonymous) 2008-03-31 12:16 am (UTC)(link)
I was more excited about the possibility of Fox and Collin having a serious argument or something than about anything Arath/Collin. Fox and Collin are so domestic, happy and boring nowadays. It's realistic, yes, but not all that exciting to read about.

Not as much of a fandom concept as a character flaw, at least in my case. :P

And of course you're right, if I don't like the way the comic is going no one is forcing me to read it. I just keep hoping that it'll get better again: I have very fond memories of reading the earlier story lines.
