That's exactly what's bothering me. I can buy their happily ever after and that, realistically, not every couple has terrible horrible dramas. But with Fox and Collin there's never, ever any serious problems or arguments. It's boring to read and that's not a good thing.

14 - You don't have to call them idiots. When making an argument, referring to those supporting that which you're arguing against negatively takes away from your credibility. If you're trying to go up against a whole slew of FMA fans, do it right.

That being said, Roy would be more like an older brother to Ed than a father. The father figure would be Maes.

I agree that the Collin/Fox/Arath should have lasted longer and should have created drama. I was sad.

However, I do NOT agree that Bootsie is being OOC with Nick - for a very simple reason : she's the official Bootsie. She can't be OOC O_o It just reminds me of every single Itachi!fan SCREAMING bloody murder over Itachi being OOC during his fight with Sasuke.

When characters are exploited a certain way BY THEIR CREATORS, they CAN'T BE OOC. That's the way they really are.

Perhaps I could've put that better (but not without making a tl;dr secret).

What I meant was that based on her previous characterization she wouldn't have done that. I doubt that anyone would've predicted her suddenly throwing some random guy on the bed before it actually happened. That's just sloppy writing: there should always be enough hints, no matter how subtle, to justify a big twist like that and there wasn't. Well, at least in my opinion...

But I definitely agree with you on the Itachi thing. :) I wasn't surprised because he had always been crazy and now dying, too. I suppose that those fans had created a whole new Itachi in heir minds.

9. Even though I was never active in the fandom, I shipped Mulder/Scully like there was no tomorrow. I adored them. I adore them to this day. And ITA with the comments that if there isn't even a little romance, tears will be shed.

66) So, what, JKR was looking at a bunch of HP fan sites, saw how popular Sirius/Remus was, thought "Oh no, no gay for you!", and thus Remus/Tonks was born, since as everyone knows bisexuals don't exist? Yes. I am so looking forward to this movie. And my view on Paris is as such:
I think of Saw, House of Wax, Repo, and Hostile to be trashy movies. While they could be considered art, they are not HIGH art, and I could totally see a trashy girl being in a trashy horror flick, thus, Go Paris! As long as she remains type cast and doesn't try to play Princess Di or anything, go with it.

Sirius/Remus is one of the least likely ships I can think of, personally. Being friends =|= being sekrit gay lovers. I think Remus could, in some ways, be hungry enough for affection to take love from people of either gender, but I think that boat sailed for Sirius Black after the whole 'Azkaban' thing. Not because he actually deserved to go to prison, but because once Remus was on his own, he grew up, grew a backbone, and realized that Sirius isn't always right. Which is why, when we see them later, Remus is the one telling Sirius to sit down and calm down in the Order meetings with Snape, while in the memories of their times as students he was a complete pushover.

And if Sirius is gay for anyone, it's James. James is all he talks about, in a manner that I would consider to be somewhat 'infatuated', and he doesn't ever talk about Remus that same way. In the Worst Memory scene, Sirius is insulting toward Peter and very insensitive toward Remus. I don't think there was much secret love there. As for in adulthood, Sirius was clearly very depressed and not taking care of himself in book 5 when he was stuck in Grimmauld the entire time, and Remus being forced to take care of him doesn't really strike me as good conditions for secret gay love. If they were in some kind of fulfilling relationship, I tend to think that Sirius would be a little bit happier, and Remus wouldn't have been short with him.

While I personally don't think that Remus/Tonks was a healthy or realistically written relationship, I don't think it was covering up subtext. I think it's because Remus is one of JKR's favorite characters and she wanted him to get some 'love' before killing him off, and the romantic relationships in her books are consistently dysfunctional and for a lot of them you have to suspend reality for a moment to try and accept them as canon. She likes mismatched pairings where the two characters in question are drastically different, she likes pairings where the characters have a long relationship of fighting, she loves them getting married ridiculously young and with super short time dating (remember that James and Lily, the canon's essential ~dream otp~ started off as enemies, came from completely different backgrounds, dated for one year and then married 'right out of school' so around 18 or 19 years old, and had a baby within two years of marriage. Not exactly setting themselves up for success, are they? But we have to trust that they were successful because JKR says it was so) JKR values passion over compatibility. If Remus and Tonks had actually managed to survive the final battle, I would personally hope that she wouldn't have written them as still together, because I think that Remus seemed truly unhappy about every aspect of their relationship except for Teddy. But that's just my opinion. I have fandom pairings for Remus that I read fanfic about for fun, but as far as the canon goes, I can't actually imagine him realistically being put with any of the characters provided. Remus/Tonks was terrible, imho, but I think that Remus/Sirius is a ship that is formed entirely out of fandom, fanfic, fan drawings, and so forth. I don't think it has any basis in canon at all.

tl;dr - it isn't actually subtext, it's that JKR's friendships are almost always more romantic and plausible than her canon ships.

26. I agree and disagree. I mean I think it's already too late but Kristoph isn't nearly as vile and malicious and psychotic as Dahlia was. The way she used her sister, how she almost got away with everything.

One of the things is that Mia didn't prove anything (She did and didn't all at once). Dahlia walked out of court with a vague confession. Apollo managed to prove more right up until the end.

In the end I think Dahlia is a much more vile character then Kristoph, something about the ending didn't seem as "epic" than Dahlia's end.

But hell if that stops me from shipping the two of them because it'd be hilarious.

There's a bit of wank a couple of pages back about Dahlia's character, but Kristoph basically used Klavier the same way Dahlia used Iris, so I'm not quite sure how that's different. Kristoph almost got away with what he did for 7 years, which was a lot longer than Dahlia did.

I also agree that his ending wasn't nearly as epic, but I think it's more of a mixture of shoddy writing and a crappy motive than anything. Hopefully the villian of GS5 will be more "evil" and satisfying to take down.

02 - I think...to some extent...I am, too. DX

14 - My dislike of Roy/Ed comes from the fact that, from my point of view, they have no romantic or sexual chemistry. That's just me, though. 3/4 of the fandom disagree with me, I guess. O_x I wish there was less Roy/Ed and more Roy/Anybody else besides maybe Riza because I'm pretty sure I can find hentai of that easy and some other pairings don't have too much hentai. =(

EDIT: All of you people yelling at 14 OP for being a "bigot"...consider that s/he was exaggerating when he called Roy/Ed fans idiots.
