4)I'm still kinda new to the cosplay circut, but really I agree. Man, it's hard really it is, but no one just starts off as the best cosplayer in the world. It's just common sense really.

31)Oh SNAP...BOKURANO?! And I kind of agree, though I really think it's just more that Bokurano got less coverage than Gurren Lagaan did. That and Gurren Lagaan's got more mainstream things to attract people to it. I know a lot of people who incidentally got turned off of Bokurano because of the whole--which I found silly cause it's an interesting plot device* children dying thing. That and they actually took casualties into consideration--people weren't magically ok after the whole thing...

31. Haha I guess that's what drew me to it, but I suppose I'm more of a stickler for realism than most. Haha at least I didn't put down Narutaru, which I was almost considering because I like it better, but I can understand that it would be waaay too harsh for most audiences. I'm not putting anyone down for liking TTGL... I didn't think it was crap, but I guess it's the whole giving other things a chance. I'm always stuck in that kind of hole with most of the things I like though... mainstream is fine, but I always feel people should give things that are in the shadows a second glance.

I agree that they make her way to harsh with him. There is siblings rivalry and then there's just being cruel.
The writers made Rodney a better man, but they still write her sister like if he was the total asshole he used to be in SG1.
So instead of enjoying her as much as I could, I'm bracing myself for for Rodney for the next hurtful thing that might come out of her mouth.

THE TEAL DEER, I KNOW:

See, I normally prefer series like Bokurano (more realistic style, more original story, seinen and all that--my favorite manga of all time is 20th Century Boys), but in this case, I honestly just feel TTGL is better-told than Bokurano. I adore Bokurano, don't get me wrong, but for some reason it just didn't grip me like Gurren Lagann did. Granted, I've only seen the anime and I've heard the manga is much better (I don't doubt this, either), but, while Bokurano is definitely my type of thing and TTGL isn't really, I felt like Bokurano just didn't live up to my expectations.

I was frustrated with the end of the Bokurano anime series and I basically thought the series went downhill after the amazing that was episode thirteen. TTGL may have been clichéd and ridiculous and sometimes downright silly, but I felt that what it did with those stereotypes was meaningful. Not new, not original, but meaningful nonetheless. Not that Bokurano isn't meaningful, because it certainly is, but I feel what TTGL had to say was more applicable in my life and it...actually made me care. I had heard those types of messages a thousand times in shounen anime, but TTGL made me actually listen to them, and actually want to live up to them. Bokurano just...kind of made me sad and ineffectual, I guess? Sad anime tend to be my favorites generally, but Bokurano just didn't seem to have much to it in the way of actual meaning I could take away from it. It didn't make me view the world or myself differently than I did before seeing it. TTGL did.

Anyway, it's almost 4 AM so I don't even know what I'm getting at exactly. I guess that I simply preferred TTGL for reasons unrelated to art style, and that, while I enjoy Bokurano a lot, I just couldn't bring myself to care about it as much as I do TTGL.I still have the Bokurano manga to read, though, and I suspect I may have more respect for Bokurano when I get to reading it.

They're both great series, though, and I almost feel that this is an exercise in futility because the two series are so utterly different in tone and style that comparing them doesn't feel quite right to me. They both have things that work in their favor and things that aren't so great about them, so I guess we should just leave it at that. :P [/endless, pointless, random rambling caused by sleepiness]

Not because you like a smaller!fandom series and think it's better-- that's all true. You sound like an elitist because you fucking assume you're the only god damn person on the internet that thinks Bokurano is one of the most epic manga ever (it at least wins most amazingly, beautifully, depressing).

Your secret made me rage for all of two seconds (don't worry, I forgive you), so you should totally make it up to me by telling me whether the anime was worth watching. I stopped watching after they fucked up Kako's part. ;_;

45- Somehow this secret makes me sad ;___; I enjoyed the anime and the manga version (okay, I prefer the manga version) But I don't view one as being insuperior to the other, they are simply seperate stories. Both are good and the anime just did the best it could without putting up a bunch of filler that ruins that show. And it did a decent job though. What DOES make me upset though is when anime watchers won't see the manga because they were so satisfied with the anime. The manga is so good, and even if people constantly annoy you about it, I still completely recommend it to any person who enjoyed the anime. Because same great characters, new fantastic story.

Ok, I understand you don't like them. That's fine, everyone's entitled to their opinion. BUT! That's no reason to tear an author down. At least they're writing and posting, what have you done lately? Don't like seeing their fic all the time? Don't read it! Start posting stories then, give people something else to read then. But don't tear someone down when they're honestly posting something. That's just hurtful and I would hope that people weren't that petty.

I know and understand the material squicks people, fine and dandy, there's always going to be something that someone writes that squicks someone. But don't be mean and vindictive just because YOU don't like it. Some of us enjoy their stories and want to see more. How would you feel if you were in their shoes and someone wrote that about you?

So bring on the wank if you want, I don't care. I just would hope someone would support my stories if anyone decided they didn't like them and became petty about it.
