31. Irk? I seriously hate it when I found out an actor I like is a Scientologist. Besides, it's not even a religion, but more like a cult. You can stop being a Christian/Jew/Muslim/Hindu/Buddhist/whatever and nobody would really give a shit, but stop being a Scientologist, you might as well stop breathing. Seriously, those fuckers will hunt you down if they have to.

Oh, and I never heard anything about Scientology being racist towards black people. I'm not deny it, I just never heard it before. More info, plz.

L. Ron Hubbard was unabashedly racist in many of his interviews and memoirs.

"Don't break your back scrubbing floors. Get yourself a nigger, that's what they were born for."

"Actually, have you ever noticed how a Negro, in particular, down south, where they're pretty close to the soil, personifies MEST*? The gatepost and the wagon and the whip and anything around there - a hat. They talk to them, you know? 'What'sa mattuh wi' you hat?' They imbue them with personality."

* Matter, Energy, Space and Time.

"They smell of all the baths they didn't take. The trouble with China is, there are too many chinks here."

"There are only two answers for the handling of [mentally and spiritually unhealthy people], neither one of which has anything to do with reasoning with them or listening to their justification of their acts. The first is to raise them on the Tone Scale by un-enturbulating some of their theta by any one of the three valid processes. The other is to dispose of them quietly and without sorrow."

1: Isn't feminine behaviour something you can pretty much control yourself? Just... go with what you like.

15: Hmm... I think you're telling tales, my fellow internet person. Also, bah for wankbait.

20: I agree. Bad form, people!

27: The way it's done in fandom is usually awful, but there's nothing wrong with using foreign words in a story. Happens in published literature all the time. Honourifics in Japanese are usually left in, too (though, ironically, not in manga).

That would make a hilarious sitcom, and I would totally watch it.

12. Man, I love that game, but living in that world would suck. I would have to shave my legs every damn day. They don’t make pants to go below the knees!

17. All these Twilight Secrets make me hungry!

20. Aaaagh! Oh, YEESH, that was painful. Not the art, but the contrast. Ouch.

30. I think in regards to the official art, Koizumi’s lack of exposure may be in direct inverted proportion to the size of his boobs.

(Anonymous) 2008-04-12 02:37 pm (UTC)(link)
12. There are pants that go below the knees :o but since it seems to be always summer in most parts of Ivalice, that's why their pants are like...short :(

Yeah. I'd live there without clothes, if I had to, dammit.

(Anonymous) 2008-04-11 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
23. ... so uh. You do realize that it's the easiest thing ever to discover who you're talking about since you didn't blur out the flist as well as the username?

[identity profile] grazie.livejournal.com 2008-04-11 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
You can actually make out what the blur says, if you look at the email part. They didn't blur that out as well as the actual username part.

I didn't think it was very IC, either. But it got me.

I'm Mormon. I still refuse to read terrible books. There's no contradiction there.

OP

(Anonymous) 2008-04-14 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
The thing is that they won't give me any reason why they want me to read it, because I've heard how terrible the book is (to use your word, sorry). Once they began saying how "everyone in the ward is reading it!", that's when I knew. They wouldn't have time to read it otherwise.

FUCK YES 25.

[identity profile] hana-ginkawa.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
Just because the author is Mormon, doesn't mean it will ZOMG be about Mormon scripture and boring.

And Twilight isn't a horrible book, it's just not for everyone. I enjoyed it.

OP

(Anonymous) 2008-04-14 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
I was pretty sure it wasn't going to be about some missionary-vampire or anything like that, but when the collective 'they' seems to give no other reason to read it, one starts to become a bit defensive.

[identity profile] zoom-gas.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 12:40 am (UTC)(link)

I so agree. Loved the books (is that a comic? Haven't seen it) but hate the series. I was disappointed by Bob, dammit.

IASFM!! I really want to know more about Koizumi, about his past, about his actual role in the Organization, etc etc. We know A LOT more about everybody else than we do about him. =(

Would the maker of the recent Tsubasa secrets, such as that Sakura/Syaoran one consider using a different font? :D It's obvious if you use the same one over and over, with the same photo format, you're the same person.

Fandom linguists are love, yo.

[identity profile] flow.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
30. Asdfg, Koizumi needs more love. An image he's not in the back of, more attention in novels... Anything, really, would be a step up. The Organization would be a bonus.

[identity profile] elfinpiper.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 01:29 am (UTC)(link)

18. I’m inclined to agree with you.

I love Stark. Stark is five million kinds of awesome, I didn't even know there were people who didn't like him! I know there are people who find Jool annoying (lol, I don't care, I think she's hilarious, but there is literally nothing about the show that I don't like. Even the few bad episodes are fun to watch).

But Stark? Is many times awesome. He had some of the funniest parts, and one of the most heartbreaking on the show. His reaction when Zhaan died? Oh, god. Killed me. I love Stark.

I'm not in the Farscape fandom really (all I've done is some icons and one piece of fanart) so what do I know =P

Re: 19

[identity profile] glamourcorpse.livejournal.com 2008-04-12 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
I already commented to the OP, but I figured I comment here too, as Farscape fans on FS always please me.

I know what the OP is talking about, (but I have only really run into it over at TWOP because it's the only board I am on.) Apparently some people find him annoying, and several right out hate him. Whatever. He's "fabulous" as my roommate puts it.

He had some of the funniest parts, and one of the most heartbreaking on the show.

I completely agree. I really didn't notice it until we started to re-watch the series as we got the DVDs. I didn't understand the character watching them in bits, but all together I was just SOLD. While I'm not always pleased with how they used him (the constant barrage of abuse heaped on him with little to no kindness, and his complete unraveling) I have come to adore Stark and become a huge Paul Goddard supporter. (He's also a wonderful musician!)

I'm not in the Farscape fandom really (all I've done is some icons and one piece of fanart) so what do I know =P

Like I said, I'm only on over at TWOP, for their current rewatch. I'm like you, icons and fanart. Also, I love fan art, mind if I ask to get a peep at yours?
