Nah, I didn't think it would squick everybody. Squicks are a personal thing. It just... really hit me. I don't think I can even pinpoint exactly what it was that got to me.

Ars Magica!

I have the fourth edition Ars Magica handbook, plus A Winter's Tale. I absolutely love reading over them - the characters in the latter are so vivid, and even the handbook is an excellent read. The system is intriguing and really very well-designed - I love the Virtues/Flaws. Love them to pieces. And the spell descriptions! *swoon*

Unfortunately, I've never actually played it. Curse my boring roleplaying group.

EDIT: No, apparently it's third, because I distinctly remember True Reason.

Scientology is full of seriously bad mojo. Every religion has its hang ups, but you have to try and draw the line somewhere. Ignorance and apathy like yours kills people.

I agree. There's so much to explore about him. For instance, what does he do at home? Does he have any other friends? What's the Organization like? What is the real Koizumi, since he's admitted that his persona is simply for show? After nine novels, we still don't know too much about him. Everyone else in the SOS Brigade has had significant plot arcs largely devoted to them. (Haruhi in book 1, Yuki in book 4, Mikuru in book 7) Therefore, it's hypothesized that the current arc that spans novels 9 and 10 will feature Koizumi prominently.

But alas, people are too preoccupied with who goes with who and what goes in which hole. >_>

No. They may be stupid for other reasons, like failing to read community rules, or being unable to type coherent english, or acting in an obnoxious way without realizing how much they're pissing people off, but nobody is stupid for shipping something. Get off your high horse.

I adore both of them. I even ship Tonks/Luna! (seeing this pic made me squee, hee hee) :-) I remember the two were equally popular when OotP came out, but Tonks began losing popularity after HBP was released. But she's still popular in exchange fests.

Though I do know how you feel. One of my favorite characters, Quirrell, is practically forgotten. :-(

07. Um. Well, he's a bit on the omnisexual side, and all the omnisexual people I've met in real life are actually kind of creepy. But Jack (especially that Jack) is love.


13. Initially, I loved Tonks so much more than Luna (though I still loved Luna). But then book 6 came out. And book 7. And all I could see was a whingy, weak person who let a man define her and then went ahead and got pregnant to shotgun a wedding (check the dates. Definately a shotgun). I really wanted to like Tonks/Lupin. But JKR hates healthy, happy relationships, apparently.


27. It's been ages sinces I've read it, but if I recall correctly, "The Awakening" at least is set in New Orleans. I grew up in Louisiana, and there's half a dozen or more French words that are so ingrained into our vocabularies that it was not until I went to college and found that some of the words I used on a daily basis got me blank looks from most people that I realized they weren't English (and some I knew were French, but it was just more common to use them anyway). I can't spell any of them, I don't actually speak French, but it's still part of how I talk.


31. I KNOW! When I found out that he and his brother (Francis from Malcolm in the Middle), I was so upset. They seem so cool, but dangit. I'm not sure if it's more or less of a comfort that they grew up into it (as opposed to converting).

06. One of my favorite books of Gaiman's was actually Coraline, which he wrote for his two daughters. So that secret made me think of his kids, which made me think of their analog, Coraline, which made me sad with the idea of Coraline's dad leaving her mum for a fellow writer.

No, Coraline's dad! You can withstand the stinging of bees, surely you could withstand the monster in your pants!
