I just now watched the premiere. I was worried it would be too melodramatic, but I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. And I figured out the twist about 10 seconds before it was revealed, which is just how I like my twists.

I haven't seen TFA, but I finally checked this ship out. I did an AO3 search for the ship, rated Explicit, single chapter, and tagged with "dubious consent."

There were 43 results. And most of it was the most boring, sanitized antagonistic het I've ever read.

I feel very cheated by all the moral outrage.

Not really a fandom but I just watched an episode and have complaints.

-YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SUPER CLOSE TO THE BEACH! You are not going to be going there every day because you are a working adult. A 15 minute walk won't kill you and going $300 over budget isn't worth it.

-Your family is not going to be visiting you enough to justify going over budget for that second bedroom.

-You want modern. She wants traditional. PICK A STYLE AND STOP MAKING YOUR REALTOR MISERABLE.

-No. You can't get a modern house right next to the beach with two bedrooms and two baths and ALSO has a pool and two car garage for the price of the pocket lint you gather every month.

Star Wars

I've kind of dropped back out of the Star Wars fandom. I guess, while I loved TFA, it didn't inspire quite the fandom love that the other 6 movies and the EU did. I feel like I'm going to be right back in the fandom after Rogue One. I'm hoping some really awesome fics come out of it. My favorite era is really the OT era plus the early EU. That's where i want to read fics for.

Gift Exchange

I am doing the Reddit Trick or Treat Gift exchange. I already got my person some candy. I was also going to send them something separately thru amazon. He is a huge fan of Star Wars and I wanted to combine that with something Halloween-y. Do you think an adult male (who I know nothing about in regards to personal life) would enjoy a Star Wars themed candy bowl or would it just be something to clutter up his life. Like this.



If not, what is something horror/Halloween related that is also related to Star Wars.

Went to the docs today. Everything turned out fine and I got fixed up and now I can MOVE again, yaay. I got sleep, huzzah. They gave me a sedative pain killer to try but I'm really anxious about trying it. It says other side effects are nausea and vomiting, and I really don't want to deal with that

Petty Reason You Stopped Watching

There's plenty of good reasons to stop watching something, but ever just have a really petty one?

Mine was Property Brothers. After watching them bend backwards for dog owners there was a show with cat-owners. And the cat owners were very insistent that their house accommodate all their large expensive cat furniture (those giant carpeted jungle gym things) and be cat friendly. The brothers sneered and made (heh) catty remarks about this all episode and very deliberately did not do any of the things the owners wanted, including tossing all their expensive cat furniture and replacing it with a single cheap cat bed and scratching post.

I have not watched a single episode since then. I know it's fake so I'm sure as soon as filming was done the nice couple moved all their cat furniture right back in. It also made me think about how frequently they'd be sure to show people complaining about 'cat smell' in houses, but never dog smell and damage. And from working on a few houses myself, I know dogs are just as talented at causing the need for renovations!

So I quit watching the show because they're meanie cat haters sometimes. Who else quit a show because of petty reasons?
