I pretty much agree with you. A lot of the times, I just wanted to slap Metis for being a prick and dumbass himself. I didn't like that he got away with a lot of things normal kids would get in trouble -- even in manga/webcomics, professional and amateur.

But it's just starting out so hopefully it'll get better?

Oh, take Bleach, the manga isn't high on the likable list right now... I don't hate it because of the fandom, I hate it because --MY GOD-- will Kubo just stop for even a second and read over what he's been drawing for the past year? I doubt he even uses his brain anymore, it's just the same fucking formula of bad guy shows up, beats the shit out of Ichigo, good guys show up, beat the shit out of bad guy, rinse and repeat. I can't even bring myself to care about 95% of the cast nor the plot anymore. Naruto, I gave up reading long, long ago so I don't know what the shit's been going on lately. Oh man, that was tl;dr.

But fandom? Psh. I hate it more than the series.

1. Since...when was Fantasia meant for kids? Since when was enjoying it at 21 a bad thing? Dude, most of Disney's early films were intended for ALL ages. Back during a time when that really meant "all ages." You're supposed to find as much enjoyment in it at 21 as you did at...oh...8 or whenever. Hell, especially Fantasia. I don't think very many children were meant to get the whole "visualizing classical music" element, and I don't think certain pieces (Night on Bald Mountain) were really made with a very young audience in mind.

16. I both agree and disagree. Yes, some fandoms do warp people's perceptions of sex (no, gay guys aren't really like they are in yaoi or slash, the male anus does not function like a vagina, etc.), but I've seen many of those sexual dysfunctions you describe well outside of fandom. Especially the breeder one.

I'd argue that fandom is actually more responsible for increasing some sexual depravities (MPreg, rape fantasy) than for causing stunted repression.
