I'm just frustrated because my plan for today was lots of studying. But I still have a migraine, slept 3 hours last night, also was really nauseous, and just ended up laying in bed in pain because I felt too sick to take any painkillers for my migraine. And then when I could finally take a painkiller a couple of hours ago, I was then too loopy to study.

Work is dead. If work is dead, I do less services. If I don't do a certain amount of services, I make only minimum wage, and am bored to tears. There is no room for growth in my small town, and everyone is awful. I just want to enjoy my job and get paid, damn it!

Been there. I hate those days. You're just standing around and basically thinking, "Why even have me come into work today?"

And the minimum wage/lack of growth thing makes it even more frustrating. Hard to get motivated for your job when it doesn't feel like it's going to go anywhere or pay anything decent to live on.

I can't with Korean dramas. I was watching Goblin, and shock of shocks, actually enjoying it! It was surprisingly good!
and then I got to episode 4
and these girls are sneaking a cigarette into protag-girl's hand AND SHE'S NOT NOTICING GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK THEY'RE LITERALLY SLIDING IT BETWEEN HER FINGERS
I paused the episode right there and haven't been able to bring myself to press play again yet.

Some Korean dramas are REALLY good and then after you watch a bunch you just can't believe how stupid the characters are or that you can basically predict the plot by episode 2.

I went through a phase where I really enjoyed Korean dramas, but then I saw one too many with stupid plots and quit watching. The last one I really enjoyed was Goong and I'm still kinda salty over who the MC ended up with.

I think everybody knows all the major plot points by now but just in case, I'm still gonna say there are 'Rogue One' spoilers here.

Today, a friend of a friend declared to all of us that Jyn Erso is racist, because she "disrespects" Cassian Andor and Saw Gerrera. By "disrespect" she meant "argues with them."

Apparently, a white woman arguing with non-white men, regardless what those men have done, is wrong.

People kind of awkwardly changed the subject after that, but...what.

What is this kind of logic.

"Hey Cassian, I know you were ordered to kill my father, and you almost did it, but the actor who plays you is Mexican, so I'm not gonna call you on it."

"Hey Saw, I know you raised me up as a child soldier and eventually abandoned me in a bunker, but the actor who plays you is black, so don't worry, I'll swallow my pain and pretend everything is cool between us."

And how is it not racist to say that non-white people must always be treated like shining paragons of virtue.

And what about the gender dynamic, here, because isn't this also saying a woman should just roll over and be a doormat for a couple of men?

Here's this super diverse movie, and it's still bad and wrong because the female character is white. And, you know, maybe there's something to the idea we should get to have some more non-white women as protagonists, since there's still a gap there, but there's a point where it's like...are you sure you're not trying to find a reason to be mad?

For fuck's sake.

Short rant: It saddens me that Harry Potter's kind of become the new Twilight. Everyone agrees that it's awful. Although unlike Twilight, this includes most of the fandom.

Okay, the fandom was always... weird with that. From the start, really. But I never got why all the people who actually liked the books and JKR left, and all the people who think the books suck after the fourth one and JKR is the devil and Draco's leather pants should've defeated Voldemort stayed.

I liked the books and saw the movies (with the exception of stuff released in the last two years). As long as fucking Freeform doesn't air the movies every other goddamn week I don't think I'll get tired of HP.

I'm sick and bloody tired of being the only one doing all the child care when my nephew is around, and my mom and grandma dumping on me like my irritability is caused by anything other than stressful work with NO BREAKS and overwork with NO HELP. Gee, anyone would be irritated if they were doing all the work, no breaks, no help, barely getting a bite to eat, having only two chances to go to the bathroom a day no matter how bad one needs to goddamn pee or shit.

I am pissed and upset. I bought a sex toy that was supposed to be glow in the dark purple. It glows green. It will apparently fluoresce purple under a black light which 'counts' as glowing purple.

I went back and forth on it for a week because I didn't really need it, but I really really liked the idea of it glowing purple, finally decided what the hell I'd treat myself... and now I just feel like I made the wrong choice.
