I'm laughing because two of the friends I have who have read this have received anon hate telling them how terrible they are for reading this, one even got an invasive "you're probably getting off to it too lmao" (lol we laughed about that on the group chat, I don't think anyone could get off to that).

I also read it because of a previous anon's secret saying sangwoo was their fit-spiration. However I can see where you're coming from, but like you say though the art itself is amazing and I'm eager to know how the levi-looking guy escapes (I forgot his name lol). I think i would find it more appealing if it was a GL, purely for the fact I don't think there's been any erotic/horror-type of GL webcomic, and it would be something fresher and new.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-31 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
not OP but the art is amazing and it's apparently the author's first comic, which astounds me because it's so detailed, consistent, and gorgeous.

I agree with the idea of a GL version of this! Though, I feel like a female version of Sangwoo would come across... more exploitative, rather than fresh? I find it funny how often Sangwoo has his shirt off and is drawn in sexy poses, but I think I would be annoyed if it were a female character, it'd feel too dominatrix-ey. other than that though, yes please to lesbian horror.

In regards to "I don't think anyone could get off to that"... I have a friend who constantly talks about how hot the Sangwoo is as well as more, erm, explicit things. So some people apparently do

You don't think people are getting off to this? Women are OBVIOUSLY reading this bc it's two guys. There's het stuff similar to this that no one reads. It's trashy yaoi with good art at the end of the day, and people who can't admit that are sort of pathetic. It's like the people who played DMMD and insisted they weren't fujos lol.

Meh I hear you. I wanted to like it but it's a bit too over the top pointless macarbe and Yoonbum is a completely and utter drip I can't get behind. Sangwoo had his charm but only for so long...

Hahahahahahahahahaha I like it but that's a good description.

Speaking of the art, I really like the use of lights to convey feelings. It's a really little nice detail.

Also I agree on being hard to get into, or at least that also have been for me too. I like it because I like my fix of fucked up relationships, but this one is less "relationship" and more "fucked-up". Personally I plan on reading til chap. 18, leave it for a bit and then catch up later on, depending on where the story is going.

Also random thought: Sangoose Sangwoo's Madonna–whore complex is strong.

IA. I'm super into it because it's like fucked up dynamics porn. Personally I don't think it has like, character-study levels of complexity, but I love this creepy MC for a change and the art is decidedly beautiful.

I'm going to have to be the one that disagrees, and I've never had a tumblr account lol.

I don't think it really feels like a BL. I mean, it's hard to say before the series has been completed, but as of chapter 15, the series has spend the MAJORITY of the time focusing on how terrified Yoonbum is of Sangwoo, who has been pretty much 100% of the time portrayed as a monster. There have been two physical/sexual scenes (neither of them being actual sex), and while both times Yoonbum has gotten into it, it seems to me the takeaway is supposed to be how crazy Yoonbum is. Plus, in both scenes, Yoonbum was portrayed as kind of creepy, tbh.

So I'm not even sure right now it properly qualifies as horror erotica either, and I say that as someone who likes horror erotica. The sexual scenes haven't been erotic, they've been uncomfortable, and again, only two out of how many other scenes of Yoonbum being scared of, wanting to run away from, and ultimately falling out of love with Sangwoo.

Now, maybe the series will go the BL route and they'll somehow fall in love, who knows. But I'm not sure what feels "tumblr" about this comic (I'm not even sure what that means... like, SJW? Yaoi-esque?) except that it presumably has a fandom on tumblr. I know it's marketed on Lezhin as a BL, but so far, I'm not seeing an actual romance, just a horror drama about two massively disturbed guys that's probably going to end with one or both dead.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-31 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
is it intended to be erotic horror? I know some clueless fangirls are interpreting it as a BL comic, but I read the entire thing and it came off as 100% horror that happened to involve sex

(Anonymous) 2017-01-31 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
what is this series?

I dunno, it doesn't feel like BL to me. I checked it out because an awful lot of people I followed for Yuri on Ice stuff started posting about it, but it read like a fucked up horror show to me. It never felt erotic, just creepy. I think most people who like it are fans of horror and they're fully aware of how messed up it is, though I won't deny that there are some people who are under the delusion that these two guys are in a healthy, romantic relationship. As for me, I wasn't a fan of the art style and I didn't like any of the characters, so I dropped it and I wish people would stop tagging it as YOI.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-31 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Why the hell are they tagging it as YOI? The characters look nothing alike, and YOI is about two people in a loving, joyful, consensual relationship finally happy with their lives...and KS patently isn't. That's a terrible, TERRIBLE comparison o_O

(Anonymous) 2017-01-31 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Lezhin (the publisher) refers to it as BL, and the artist produces ~sexy~ promotional art with the two characters and retweets people's yaoi art/cosplay. It's clearly marketed toward fujoshi.

I also found Killing Stalking through Yuri on Ice fandom, oddly enough. And I'm really confused how fans of such a happy loving anime would latch on to such a fucked up, abusive relationship. There is nothing healthy about what's going on there. An obsessed stalker getting "Misery" style treatment from a legit murderous psychopath. It's not really sexy, it's just an emotional pit of despair.

Though, I guess some fans are into that since I recently found a fanfic where Victor is a mob boss who kidnaps and rapes Yuuri on a regular. There's a crossover of fans in there, but I didn't realize there'd be so many I guess.

I tried reading it because it got posted about here, and I.... I don't know how I feel about. I don't think I *have* much feeling about it, aside from vague unhappiness.
Then again, I'm not much of a horror fan. I guess this is a prime example of why I'm not much of a horror fan XD it just depresses me, because there are people like this out there irl.

The art really is gorgeous, though I found it distracting how much the dude-who-isn't-Sangwoo looks like Levi, haha. Only he's nothing like Levi ._.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-31 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I feel like most of the scary stuff I read/watch is supernatural or involves monsters or something. This almost feels more uncomfortable because people like Sangwoo exist, right down to seeming like normal, well-adjusted people. I mean, the secret torture/murder basement thing is maybe not your everyday crime story (though it happens), but it reminds me of when there's a mass shooting and everyone who knew the shooter is shocked because they were such friendly and kind people.

Yeah, this about the same as I feel about it. I like horror, but I'm not such a fan of the gore/"snuff" genre. I also just can't seem to care enough about the characters to be actually horrified/too disturbed about what's happening, I feel kind of distant about what's happening.

Commenting purely on the art, it is fantastic. This is also my first time reading a.... Lezhin-style comic? I don't know if it's typical for Korean webcomics, but where you scroll down the entire time rather than flip through pages like a manga. There is something really cool about the use of blank space, or gradients (there's a cool one, I think in the first chapter, when you go from the police officers back to the basement and it there's a white-to-black gradient, so cool; or when there's just a long stretch of white between something). I love it.

The characters' faces are also so incredibly expressive and clean. The only thing that bugs me is the frequent use of blank face or single eye, but I suppose that's an intentional aesthetic.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-31 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Eh, I feel you. Tbh I'm sick of this comic cos everyone and their dog recommends it to me as soon as they hear that I like gore and horror. It's like, excuse you I don't want some weirdly-written 2edgy4me BL relationship in my gore thank you very much. ((And Hannibal/Free crossover sounds weirdly accurate ha ha ha))

/jumping in with rec but

Have you read the manga Dorohedoro? Because that one's kind of gory/grotesque, less exactly horror maybe, but it's super cool. And it's very much NOT 3edgy5me.

Doesn't help that the policeman is the only likable or interesting character. Bum is a creepy piece of shit and Sang Woo is cliche as fuck.

(Anonymous) 2017-01-31 09:19 am (UTC)(link)
In the author's defense, Sangwoo is also a pretty realistic kidnapper-type serial killer tho
