WORD x infinity, because I really can't stand Tommy either.

And "glory hog" is how I'd describe him too, especially post-Green Ranger. Everything was Tommy this, Tommy that, and he was depicted as if he was the Second Coming or something. (Thus why the fandom often mockingly refers to him as "Jeebus.") Whenever he was around, it was as if the rest of the Rangers might as well have never existed, and that always infuriated me as a fan of the other characters of that era. And Tommy is a big reason why I've never really cared much for Dino Thunder either, because he was only there to pander to the fans, logic behind his being a "doctor of paleontology" be damned.

While I wouldn't mind seeing any other ex-Rangers show up again, I hope Tommy never, ever returns to the show in any shape or form. He's gotten more than enough attention.

Okay, maybe it's a total different ballgame for that particular subset of comics fandom (Comics > Marvel > Iron Man) but I 've never seen elitism from anyone other than (some) of the real old schoolers. 30. I completely understand you. I used to dedicate my life to drawing. It was all I did, every day, from the time I was 5 until the time I was 17. Then I started poking around Deviantart, oekaki boars, etc. and found out that my art was TOTAL SHIT and that people 3-4 years younger could already do 10x better than me. It crushed me. I've never fully gotten over it.

It's not that they don't deserve talent, it's just that...why don't I?

Hey... I used to feel the same way. Growing up, I was surrounded by people younger than me who were already amazing artists. Know what I did? I got better. I practiced and got better. Now, I'm 22 and I (finally) transferred to an art school. My classmates in my first Freehand Drawing class were all freshmen. FRESHMEN. Around 17-18. They were AMAZING. Some of them were even WAY better than me. Lightyears better. I decided then and there that if I was going to be jealous of people better and younger than me then fuck it, I didn't deserve to be here.

Get over yourself.
Stop whining about how much people are better than you. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, DAMN IT.

Practice.
Improve.
If you sit on your ass wangsting about this, you're never gonna get anywhere. I understand. It took me years to get over the initial jealously. I needed to find the right person to make me feel better about myself. She told me I was good enough and that all I needed to do was practice. SO PRACTICE.
