well, I hope not everyone in a fandom twists characters and stories into something they're not, which is mainly what I'm complaining about.

I guess I just want to find someone who vaguely sympathizes and who I can ramble at. I just don't go to some extremes as other people do...

I'm a...casual fandom member, I guess? dunno how to put it.

30. I don't really get why kids don't 'deserve their talent'. Sure, it makes me question myself, but to say someone isn't deserving of their talent is kinda harsh. I'm sure they work hard at it too!

40: I know how you feel. I spent most of my adolescence reading occult books to try to summon up magical forces from somewhere. Now that I know it's simply a symbolic force, it's a little disappointing. Still, I'm glad I came to that conclusion.

06 I don't know if I'd insult you personally but yeah, I think you're probably right about your vehemence tanking your chances to have more fandom friends. It's one of those things where the two things (your wanting to spend time in fandom vs. your hatred of all things non-canonical) are diametrically opposed. Not much you can do about it.

44. I don't know what happened to the art in Code Geass. Towards the end of the first season and R2 their faces started to become all distorted with freaky looking mouths and eyes too close to the sides of their heads. At least the girls still look somewhat alright. :/

I wouldn't blame CLAMP though, their illustrations actually look nice (ending theme and DVD extras for example).

haha, yeah, I do try to avoid them. I have a friend who writes some pretty good, in-character fanfic though...I like to discuss stuff with her at times.

6. Hah. I'm just the opposite; I find sticking to strict canon is too boring... and I believe that crack pairings can be really fun to tinker with. I dunno, characterization's important, but I don't see why people can't have fun with things within reason. But, eh, to each their own.

Me too! I can't stand things that are too canonical. If I want canon, I read/watch canon. Fandom is where I go for the things I can't get from canon itself. I love crack pairings, AU's, and what-ifs.
