35 - That's why I tend to not involve myself in fandoms that have long-established book/comic fandoms in addition to more recent movie-related fandoms. The elitism is impossible to stomach, even if I do happen to have been with the book/comic/etc since before the movie. I used to be really into the HP and LotR fandoms, but once the movies came out... I just couldn't stand the snot coming out of all those so-called "hardcore" elitists. Ugh. I'll still lurk and read fanfic every few months or so, though. But yea, I totally get where you're coming from.

30. Uh. No. They deserve to draw well because they worked to get good. It's not like people are born with the innate ability to pick up a pencil and instantly create masterpieces (barring the rare child prodigy). Rather than hate on them, perhaps you should learn from the results of their efforts?

44. ... The first picture. When the hell was that? So ugly, lol. I agree that sometimes the style just gets really contorted and scary, especially, with Lelouch, but I do think he looks good in those rare peaceful moments when he's at home or school. Aside from that... I kind of got used to it. The fact that CLAMP designed everything doesn't really mean much to me either... Lelouch and Suzaku, and a few others are fine, but so many of the characters just look really... wonky.

66. No worries. The Iron Man suit is really sexy, no doubt about it.

I completely understand you. I quit ballet when I was 14 because I was bullied really badly by a few girls in my group. I really loved ballet, it was my passion, when I was younger I used to tell everyone I would never quit and even continue doing ballet if I were 80 years old and in an elderly house. But those girls just took the fun away. I regret quiting a lot, but now it's virtually impossible to start again. I lost my flexibility completely because I hadn't been doing any body exercises ever since (nothing could compare to ballet) and I can't find a group of my age and with my (now low) level.

31. Late to the party, but I just had to reply (although I don't really care about who ends up with who, as long as I can make fun of it, but that is not the subject eheh).

I didn't really get the impression, it felt more like Kyouichi > Aoi > Hiichan to me. In all honesty I thought the writers were just making fun of Kyouichi's blatant gayness (as a homage to the videogame I suppose), rather than making it a serious thing. I feel Kyouichi/Aoi is one of those understated and complementing relationships that come out pretty strong in the end.

I'd also like to mention the animation (the movement) in that particular scene was amazing. It's imo one of the best in the entire series, so you gotta give them some credit for that effort. :)

ps. I really really want that 3rd season.

Your secret came across as pure hate -- the flames image MIGHT have had something to do with it, ya know? -- but after seeing your replies, I think you just need to go looking more for what you want. And if you don't see it? Write it. Fandom won't improve if you're not willing to put in what you expect to get out of it.

However, it's been my experience that purist sites can be full of cliquey, pretentious twats with impossible standards. I love canon, but it's not a religion.

And for the record, there are people out there who bust their ass to make uncanonical & unconventional fanfic of the best quality possible. If you dismiss it all out of hand, you're missing out.
