54. Agreed 100%! I can't imagine using icons by other people. Or even textures/brushes by other people (well, I've done that a few times but felt like a douche). And Photoshop is fuuuun! For me there's just no satisfaction in just taking an icon someone else made, the fun is all in making it. Tl;dr people who make their own icons rock and the people going "BAWWW CRY MOAR (HEY GUYS I'M USING OLD MEMES AM I COOL LIKE ANONYMOUS YET)" are just scared to admit they will never attain that level of rockitude. So sad. I cry for them. Tears of extreme sadness.

Monster is the first Anime (series) I ever watched, and I watched it BECAUSE it didn't have that (and it was excellent!). After Monster, I slowly got over my stereotypes and biases and now I don't mind so much if I come across those big eyes (though I still can't take the cuteness all that much).

In conclusion, Monster = Awesome.

I can't stand Miley Cyrus at all. However, I don't see anything wrong with those pictures whatsoever. The only problem I have with the picture of her showing her back is the fact that she looks like a hot mess. Artistic or not, that is the most hideious picture of her I've ever seen. 7. WHOA MAN. I liked (well, not *liked,* more like "respected/was interested by") Amber as CTB, when she was House's duckling, and I really, really enjoyed this week's episode, but I don't like her with Wilson.

I think a lot of people are so caught up in the "omg Amber/House parallel" that they equate Wilson/Amber with Wilson/House, but... it just doesn't cut it for me. I'm glad I'm not alone. xD I don't wish she'd die in the sense that I hate her, but I think it would make next week SUPER INTENSE.

Honestly? I miss the good old H/W days, in the first two seasons. Uncomplicated and fabulous. Guh.

Just because you were a stubborn idiot doesn't mean everyone else has to be. Tutorials and helpfiles are there for a reason -- if someone helps you through the basics, you can excel in the harder stuff. Obviously you know how to learn from a teacher, or you wouldn't be taking classes at all.

If I respect an iconist, I use a lot of their work. I can't say I have ever had all of mine by one iconist, even when I had only fifteen, but that's because I'm ADD.

If you don't want people using textures made by other people, does that apply to screenshots as well?

In general, it sounds like somebody couldn't play with everybody else's toys and things their shinies are better.

Maturity, please come visit the internet.

(And yes. I know you're not going to respond, you haven't responded to anyone else. But it makes me feel better to at least express the argument.)

I replied to several, but there are a lot of replies, and I was rather busy today. Several hours packing + four hours driving = little time to reply to everything. Nevermind reading everything, holy shit. I didn't even see yours at first.

Pretty much, if you saw my other comments, I wasn't feeling great that day. The responses to the original secret set me off on that little rant. (And I don't think of livejournal as a place to be mature, it's more like angst central.)

As for the texture comments, which I don't think I addressed elsewhere: When I'm making icons for myself, I honestly don't use a lot of textures. But if I do, I put a lot of thought into it. The textures I use are relatively simple: dots, paint strokes, etc. When I see someone with a giant list of sources and they put out a hundred icons a month, sometimes I wonder how much thought they're putting into their work. That was a little bit of my logic there, I know it's not fabulous and some of it may have to do with my stylistic choices, but whatevs.

And the screenshot bit: I honestly never think of that, since I usually cap things as I'm watching them D:

God, really? It's an AWFUL movie! Well, I personally can't stand the songs in it. The animation's quite nice, I guess - I'm a sucker for any old animation/talking animal movie. I have it on video somewhere, but I'll keep a look out for it and if I find it, I'll copy it and upload it for you, if you like. Needless to say, it's English.

What if I have no interest in learning how to make icons? I tried to sit down and read tutorials and just got bored, and I'm not as talented and ~elite~ as you, so stumbling my way through it is out of the question.

If there's an image I really want as an icon, I'll resize it in Paint (see current icon). Otherwise, I prefer pretty, which I can find at dozens of kind icon makers who want to share their icons.
