I've tried to write it, but I just get side-tracked by the pairings (that aren't really pairings since there's a kiss at most.)

It's a j-drama called Last Friends. While it deals with various other issues, such as sexuality and gender identity, as far as this secret goes, Michi finds out that her boyfriend, Sousuke, is a crazy abusive stalker. So I would say there is an element of psychological thriller in it.
