81 - *giggle* That secret made me LMAO. It's weird... I do the same thing a lot - one little thing I hear or see about the series will keep me from watching it. But for the most part once I forget or get over it, I watch the show and love it. Actually, that totally happened to me with Torchwood, come to think. :) If it helps, in that shot she's looking up, into sunlight, hence the expression.

You can't find people that have read these fics? It was right up the with The Very Secret Diaries by Cassandra Claire in terms of fannon when the movies were coming out. They've stopped writing LotR fics awhile ago, so maybe the readers of those stories have dispersed into other fandoms as well.

And yes, some of those photo manips were godawful (I laughed out loud a few times). But the fics were amazing and Cassia and Sio were really awesome people, so I just scrolled quickly by and tried to pretend it never happend.

Before I read the second half of this secret - about writing the fic - I though cookie_simone had made it. We have that kind of discussion aaall the time.

Badly-written Mylar non-con turns Sylar into a cartoonish aggressor, but the character I feel it ruins is Mohinder's. He's portrayed as a weak, weepy, submissive victim with no backbone, which is so far from his actual personality it's not even funny. Mohinder is defiant and strong, and he wouldn't roll over and show his belly to Sylar at the first sign of violence. Seeing him portrayed as so helpless pisses me off to no end. If that's your interpretation of Mo, why do you even ship Mylar?!

That said, well-written, IC non-con does exist. Honestly, rapefic still disturbs me, but it should, so as long as the author is duly respectful, the inclusion of rape doesn't automatically make a story bad.
