The thing in the center with the white background and blue/green/red at the center is the logo of TVB, a channel and company based in Hong Kong. The channel mostly airs Chinese dramas (or soap operas, as some like to call it). And the OP is ranting about the content those shows.

Yeah, people can be stupid. The more diverse fandom is, the richer it can be. Problems only arise when people are immature or lack common decency.

I hate to say this but... CRY MOAR.

I submitted a bunch of fics for various prompts and as a first time writer it was intimidating as all hell, even posting anonymously. Maybe people just weren't inspired by some rare pairings, or intimidated to write them? Hell, I know I don't particularly want to write Matt/Monica or Niki/Mr. Muggles (not real prompts... I don't think ha)... sometimes it just works out that way.

The only fics I got in return were from Mylar prompts but I was HAPPY to receive them. It's about anonymous generosity, not going in and EXPECTING people to write things for you.

Meh, to each their own, but personally, I find a lot of canon pairings dull, or cliched. Or sometimes they just lack depth. There are a few acceptions, but the whole main hero/main heroine thing in particular bores me unless the characters really break the mold.

Besides, no fic, art, roleplaying or any fandom-produced works are 'canon', since it's fan interpretation. Shipping itself often is based on interpretation as well.

Some people do ship 'lesser' pairings for rasons such as them being 'hot', but others, like me, go for them because the interactions between characters could be interesting if done the right way and don't acknowledge it as canon but just a unique idea. So, what's so bad about people who do go for the more obscure thing if they're sane about it? I think that thinking less of them is a bit extreme. =\

That's the way I used to be. If it wasn't canon (or looked like the writers might make it canon) then I was just not interested. Then I entered the HP fandom and I started shipping really random pairings (Remus/Draco, Neville/Pansy, James/Regulus); I mean WTF self?! Now I ship an odd mixture of the two, canon-possible pairings as well as the random ones.

I don't get it either. I don't like causing wank, but I've asked several people straight-up HOW 13 is Cameron 2.0, and I never get a good answer. Other than the shallow similarities like their genders, their illness scares, and their TWoP Hate Brigades, I can't make the connection.

If I had to make them, though, I would say that 13 reminds me more of Foreman (some people were upset that she figured out House's plot in the Secret Santa episode, as if it was meant to show how she somehow intimately understood House. I took it to mean that she had figured out the simple truth, that House likes to fuck with people), and Kutner reminds me of Cameron.
