104. YES. THANK YOU. I find the various "kid-oriented" shows that I watch far more engaging and imaginative than stuff geared towards people age. I watch TV, watch movies, read books, etc. for an escape, not to just see something that could easily happen in real life, and kids' shows are much better for that.

105. Or, you know, I use the icons I make myself because no one else makes them for the subjects that interest me, or the other ones that are out there just don't "speak" to me, or whatever. It's not because I'm "full of myself." I just have a style and taste all my own that I don't see elsewhere.

108. There's nothing wrong with that; I'm of the opinion that to be able to appreciate the arts of a religion not your own helps in becoming more open-minded towards it. I'm pagan myself, but even I find some aspects of Christian art, whether songs, paintings, sculptures, etc., truly gorgeous/moving.

116- Holy shit, I 100% agree. My love, respect, and understanding for the character of House (to a similar extent as you expressed) is basically why I'm so obsessed with the show. I feel his relationship with Wilson always gave him stability, understanding, and a bit of escape from his pain (both physical and emotional). I am very scared for the events of next season. Just think optimistically...Wilson will forgive House.

126. One of my LJ friends became a teacher and deleted all her fandom smut and flocked her journal just in case. It was kinda sad.

155. *eyeroll* I'm not denying he did great things, but he was a piece of shit for having a relationship with his slave. Not for a minute do I believe any love was in any way involved-- there couldn't possibly be. It's someone he's said through his actions is not even a person. I don't know why everyone always tries to romanticize their relationship when lots of white men at the time did this, and usually it's portrayed for what it was-- a skeezy man hooking up with a slave because of a twisted Oedipal complex (because black women often raised them) or an attraction to the taboo.

Then why didn't she stay in France when she was pregnant? She had the chance for both her and her unborn child to be free. Her brother was a gourmet chef trained to cook for the gentry in Paris - she could have easily made a living there as a high class servant.
