155. I ship all the ships that you listed (I'm not a batshit D/R shipper though) and yes you are hypocrite.

[identity profile] eldena.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
101. Oh, dang, I used to do that but I haven't thought to in ages. Thanks for reminding me!

161 - I'd listen to him talk about his photo collection of 20th century telegraph poles too.

I... kind of wish I was more like Rimmer. I'm with him on the whole boring, sarcastic, and socially inept but... Yeah. It's kind of sad...

[identity profile] imagines.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
101. Same here. Snerk.

166. ...I wonder if I know you.

Repeat Secret: *facepalm*

YES. Being married to someone who respects you is the WORST thing ever.

[identity profile] srsfnbsns.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow...I didn't even read that secret until your comment prompted me to. That is full of FAIL and misogyny for sure!

104 - Aww, don't feel bad. XD

139 - *sniff* I still keep hoping he'll be fine, just like the others, but...

171 - Holy shit--there's a movie?! I have the book and it's sequel, but I never knew there was a movie!

Re:139

[identity profile] amaiko.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Unfortunately, Kishimoto said in his 2008 Jump Festa interview that "Jiraiya lives...in your hearts" and said that he killed him off because Naruto needs to grow up. He's dead, Jim. ;-;

109. Have they already stated what's going to be in the trailer? I must have missed it, about the scene, well, they do need to make it look like there is some action in there somewhere, try to appeal to a broader audience.

151. Wall-EEEEEEEEEEE! Sry, I get distracted by the cute little robot.

[identity profile] coloa.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)

1. My brother and I used to do this all the time when we were little all the time. It never gets old.

6. Interesting...

34. Even though I don't ship it, I was hoping they'd get together too (Maybe because Fry wanted her so badly).

36. WTF? Freaky...

[identity profile] darth-salai.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 03:21 am (UTC)(link)
Oops, I mean "used to do this all the time when we were little". ^^;

[identity profile] kyujong.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
114 - Well, I like Oofuri, and yes partly for the homo undertones. I pretty much hate sports but I adore the characters in Oofuri which is why I read it. So at least in my case I have no desire to read these other "straight" series since they lack adorable Mihashi and his bird faces and such :[ There are probably more people like me too. So uhh the point I am trying to make in a very poor way is that a lot of the people in the Oofuri fandom possibly arent the type who want to read those other series anyway, so it's not really Oofuri's fault? Akljfsdk it made more sense in my head.

132 - I love Chip Skylark. If only he was a real singer, i'd buy his CDs :x

171 - That movie! Oh man. I had forgotten all about it.

116,

[identity profile] zeiss-manifold.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
116: Now I really, really want a Gurren-dan jacket. Weeaboo or not.

171: That movie! I honestly started to think that it actually never existed and was just some big hallucination of mine.

107

[identity profile] kateorman.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
107. Had I not read Dogsbody, I don't think I would be the person that I am now. It inspired my first ever effort at a novel. Although admittedly most of what resulted were drawings in texta.

Re: 107

[identity profile] bre-the-writer.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
It's an awesome book, isn't it? I think my favourite part of it is that he tried.

[identity profile] wllw.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:15 pm (UTC)(link)
106. XD I'm not a slash fan, and I definitely don't have slash coloured goggles, but even I have to admit that the subtext density was pretty high for a children's show.

122. YES. Scrooge (especially Don Rosa's) has always been, and always will be, my hero. Which I suppose explains the pile of spare change that's threatening to make my desk collapse.

By the way, it might cheer you up to know that almost everywhere outside the US, the comics' popularity completely trumps the cartoon's.

106 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-08 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
They're just so canon, but they aren't. And, yes, the subtext is what did me in, eventually. XD

166

[identity profile] doumyoujitsukas.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
...I do that too.

(Anonymous) 2008-06-07 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
112. Hey, guess what? That person thought you were special. You sure showed them, huh? Next time, don't be a dick. If you're looking for constructive help, I guess all I can offer is that you find some friends of that person and beg them to give you contact info so you can apologise. Some groveling wouldn't hurt, either.

OH MY JESUS, SOMEONE ELSE REMEBERS THAT MOVIE. ;_; ILU ANON. ♥

[identity profile] akuma-divine.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
111: YAY LABYRINTH SECRET. um... I think the only bad thing here is that you're wanting to do all this for a DEAD fanfic. I kind of want to go read it, but I'm pretty sure I'd end up in the same boat as you.

112: you pushed away your own fangirl. it's your own fault for being a dumbass.

138: Okay, see, in THAT picture, he looks really cute. Like a lost kitten or something. But most of the time... Gin is a creepy SOB.

138 OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-08 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
I knooow. That's what makes it so wrong. D:

105, 106, 112, 114, 116, 131, 138, 144, 148, 159, 165

[identity profile] libekory.livejournal.com 2008-06-07 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
105: Go you. No age limit on 'shipping, either, though as we all get older I think it's natural to find skinny teens less attractive. XD

106: CHRISTMAS EPISODE A;SDKL;ASLDFKS I cried at that episode. I taped it, and I cry whenever I watch it. skjf;slfsd;

112: Tough? This is what happens when we let our inner elitists out to play -- we don't get to have nice things.

114: Whenever anyone recommends a series to me on the sole basis of "there's gay in it!", I immediately lose interest. At least tell me, "There's really CUTE gay in it!" I'd like the relationship to be well-developed, and neither partner to be a big-eyed puffy-lipped little uke who constantly bursts into tears.

(I'm actually not complaining about boys who look like girls here, but about boys who look like kids. I am not into shota. There is nothing remotely sexy about Gravitation's Shuuichi or DNAngel's Daisuke, because they look like weepy pedo bait to me, and all I want is for someone to smack them and then firmly retie the apron strings for another ten years, or however long it takes them to go through puberty and develop a spine.)

So, don't like sports-based manga at ALL, but I still kind of feel your pain.

116: Lawl, bashing people who like slash is funny. I don't know whether it's better to be called "dumb" or "crazed". (For what it's worth, I like het and femslash pairings, too.)

131: It's not the same thing. Why? Well, long answer. But to put it simply, because aside from hysterical homophobes, everyone knows there's no real danger of them being tackled by friends/family/community members and forced through "reeducation" to turn them gay. Everyone gay? Knows that being shoved into "therapy" to turn them straight is not only possible, but happens on a daily basis.

Stripping folks of their very, very few homosexual voices in media by putting them into straight pairings is not cool. Let's wait until even 10% of shows on TV feature at least one gay character before we start worrying about whether or not it's hypocritical to be defensive of their sexuality while at the same time slashing characters who, 90% of the time, are only presumed straight to begin with.

138: I don't think you have to choose. He's creepy and strangely adorable. Plus he always seems to be having so much fun with the evil. (And, recent manga, tiny!Gin, d'awww. Lookit the little sociopath.)

144: My first thought when I saw the commercials: "Hey, it's Angel. Only not by Joss Whedon, and so probably going to suck some." Good to know I wasn't wrong. (And it's kind of a shame, because during the last couple of seasons, I really missed the "supernatural detective" side of the show.)

148: I hate it and I haven't even seen it. Of course, I hated that show and every character in it, so. (Am I the only one who watched it and wondered where the hell Sarah Jessica Parker's acting ability had disappeared to? Her narration is so unbelievably grating, she sounds vapid and wide-eyed as if she is constantly surprised by the end to her own fucking sentences. Omg I had complete thought! J.D., of Scrubs, is not my favorite character -- but he does that narration thing SO much better it HURTS.)

159: Don't even watch Heroes anymore. Still pretty much agree.

165 (and all secrets like it): Tee hee. (Don't worry, doesn't make you gay or anything. Just reminds me why we all need to be a little more flexible with our sexuality. I'm a lesbian, all intents and purposes, but some guys are still pretty.)

106. Every single time I watch that Christmas special I cry and cry and cry and cry. Every time.

172. LOL! God help me, I know that era backwards and forwards and yet I can't keep any of the peripheral characters straight either. "That's his friend, that's the chick who bore him a bastard, that's the minstrel..."

121. Oh, there are many, many Ben fans out there, including myself. (Not only do I think he's the best LOST character, I think he's one of the best characters to have ever graced television.) However, I can understand why there is little Ben fan fiction out there. Unlike Sawyer, Kate and Jack fanfics, you can't type some angsty and romantic dialog and call it a day. With Ben, you have to think. You have to be very clever in your dialog. You have to work out a plot. If you don't, no one is going to buy the story.

In short, a good Ben fanfic is very hard work.

Which is why most people stick with the the love triangle characters.

155. Hey, look, a cocker spaniel. (Still disturbing none the less.)

160. Damn straight.
