Are 'I regret nothing' secrets the new 'I ship it?'

But anyway:

118. My God. The combination of the number and the secret is just....beautiful. Take this as a sign and write bountiful amounts of fanfic.
The word needs to be spread. (Or the number needs to be spread?)

Would 118x118 be known as 13924, then? Doesn't roll off the tongue quite as easily...

I sincerely hope this isn't a troll.

If it isn't, I want to tell you something: there's nothing wrong with being treated like an equal in a relationship with a man. Absolutely nothing at all. There's also nothing wrong with wishing to be submissive to him, so long as you don't lose yourself and become a dinner-cooking, toilet-scrubbing, vacuuming drone that bends to his every whim. That's not a relationship, that's slavery.

Also, to be honest? There's also nothing wrong with wanting to kick ass and be independent. You can still be a Christian and be a strong, independent woman. Promise. ♥

Sadly, I went to a Catholic school for a couple of years and I heard such gems as "I like yaoi, but homosexuality is a sin so I don't support gays" and "My parents will disown me if I'm not a confirmed Catholic" and "FUCK JEWS!...wait, there's actual Jewish here? Huh!"

...I can believe it's real.

138.- I agree with some comments. Gin is adorable only when he was a kid and on the arrancar encyclopedia. But usually he's scary and such a SOB, but he still has some feelings for Rangiku. That's why i love him.

121. Dude, I LOVE Ben. Before Faraday, he was my absolute favorite character. Um... and I would love to read this fic. Someone write it? *Gasp!* Someone should write a series of these - same plot every time, just with every single member of the cast. Starting with Jack! I haven't really looked in to the LOST fandom, but now I really have the urge to draw some Ben fanart. :O Now look what you've done, OP! :D

142. I think you're seriously overthinking this.

I'm in the Doctor Who fandom. Of course I'm overthinking it.

120 - I agree!
And besides that what does it matter if he does "hate women". Its a character, fictional. I just don't see the big deal in it all. People need to get off their high horse and go campaign for something more important, and if it really bothers them so much...stop watching the show, but don't ruin it for the rest of us who enjoy it and see nothing wrong with.

121 - I don't read Lost fic but I would probably read a story like that if it was well written. I think generally it would be an interesting story, it would def. take a talented writer.
I gotta admit I really enjoyed Ben this season of Lost. =D
Good luck getting that fic.

166: I shipped these two boys in my bio class last spring, and another two in my Spanish class in the fall. Constantly. Hard. (hello! The one boy said, 'can you pass me my book?' and the other said, 'yes, but you'll pay for it later, you can suck me'--IN SPANISH! With little snide grins like no one would understand them! That's just the main incident...every day was similar.)

I stopped just short of writing fic. But their characters are still bouncing around in my head, one day they may come out... It's the only reason I went to class some days. To check up on the lovers.

[identity profile] mikagechan.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
That's really sad... considering Wolsey was one of the main characters for the entirety of the first season, and they said his name, like, all the time. And Charles Brandon? How could you not know Charles Brandon?? He's hawt. D:

OP

(Anonymous) 2008-06-08 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Wolsey is the cardinal who killed himself, right? Charles Brandon means nothing to me. I know of Henry Cavill, but I don't know if that's the actor or the character he plays. :/

Though, I'm actually talking more about the current series tbh. So many people come and go, it's just difficult to keep up.

138. Dude, I have that screenshot! (Photobucket, FTW?) And your secret has made me realise what a cute icon it'd make~.

He's one of my favorite characters, but I'm a bit on the fence myself. Can't decide whether he's cute or just a creepy SOB, as others have put it.

148. I don't understand why it's so popular.

164. Non-canon-like shipping is awkward, so I understand why it upsets you. *Pat pat*

165. What about Natalie? She was kind of cute in her own way, too.

HEY TOO BIG 3

[identity profile] flipthefrog.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
I watched Ghost Hunt at least a year ago, and I can't even remember blonde dude's name, but I totally liked him better than either Naru-chan. I would have picked him over any of the other guys in the cast, so I don't know what Mai was smoking, but the girl was crazy for passing him up. Keep looking, you'll find somebody and be a whole hell of a lot happier than emo-boy.

[identity profile] melengro.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
124. I felt the same way about Susan...

130. Uh...you're pathetic, do you realise that?

[identity profile] nostalgicyouth.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
103. Fuck yeah Xanxus. \o/

Although, my love for him is not so much "I'd do him" as it is "I'd follow him" sadfdfsgh.

[identity profile] melengro.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
Repeat 1: If you insist on taking that part of the Bible literally (ignoring Jael, Deborah, Sheba, Sarah, Eve, Susanna, Judith, Esther, Mary Mother of God, Mary Magdalene, and St Thecla, among others; especially in the Apocrypha), then perhaps Christianity is not the right religion for you.

But remember, you CAN love God and even be a great Christian women while still being BAD. ASS.

Dorothy L. Sayers. She rode a Vespa around well in excess of the speed limit, played guitar (despite being by most accounts very bad at it), drank like a fish well into her old age, and is considered one of the great Christian scholars of the twentieth century. She wrote Are Women Human?, The Man Who Was Born to Be King, and translated the Divine Comedy, among other things.

Don't worry. It'll all work out. And being treated as an equal is good. *hugs*

[identity profile] julia-here.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 04:32 pm (UTC)(link)
You forgot the two things Sayers did, one public, one private, which most outraged the standards of her times: she was one of the first women to be granted a Masters degree from Oxford, and she had a child out of wedlock.

131. You have to remember that in the real world, no one tries to turn a straight person gay, but there are occasions where you find individuals who try to turn gay people straight. That right there is the difference. It hits far too close too home when fans see gay characters turn straight.

Re: 131

(Anonymous) 2008-06-08 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
No, I knew a guy who ended up trying the cock in desperation because everyone told him he was gay, it does happen. Though to be fair, you're right, it's more the gay to straight than straight to gay by far.

TB!5: I don't get this either.

TB!4: Why do all Rose/Doctor secrets show her with TENnant? Where is the Nine! love?

TB!2: The thing that will prevent that is close ties to people who understand. Also, let's face it, he's more lovable than he thinks he is.

172: I suggest a history book.

170. Strangely understandable, and at least you weren't laughing your ass off saying he deserved it for being some OMG WOMONHAETR.

160. I find Bennet entirely hot, although I cannot say he is my #1 because I have been in love with Adrian Pasdar since he was Jim Profit and I am glad to see him in a show where he can once again be morally grey, because Declan Dunn was an asshole.

156. I am hoping the movie will be enjoyable because I like Robert Pattinson and the books are so bad that it seems it would be hard not to improve on them.

155. Sex = life. Get used to it.

143. Why would you WANT to stop looking?

142. Are there any characters who are not flawed?

136. I don't get the fursuit thing. I'm not sure what the point is. I could understand if furries wore makeup and costumey bits to make themselves look more animalistic but how can you feel anything wearing something like that?

131. Sexual orientation is firmly defined in canon a lot less often than most people think. How many people do you know that have had many sexual relationships with one gender only to find a specific individual of the other one hot enough to cross the road for? It happens all the time. What's annoying is when these fics try and wipe out that other side of the person's life. I don't mean that the relationship has to be short term or that there must be cheating, I mean, when they have the character announce, man, this is it! how did I never know before that I am totally totally gay/straight, all those X's in the past were just me lying to myself! Because that doesn't happen that often. People who come out as actually gay or straight later in life usually have not had a lot of successful relationships and sex with the "wrong" gender.

120. I don't even think he's very sexist. You spelled "misogynist" wrong tho'. I do hope you've been doing some weight training because your arm is gonna get tired, those people will not fucking shut up.

112. Be a tool, life will be sad in the end. Straighten up, fly right and apologise a lot.

[identity profile] mara47.livejournal.com 2008-06-08 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
"120. I don't even think he's very sexist. You spelled "misogynist" wrong tho'. I do hope you've been doing some weight training because your arm is gonna get tired, those people will not fucking shut up."

Heartily agreed. Geez. I'm highly skeptical of most of these people when they say they'd NEVER use that kind of language, even to a demon who had just slaughtered a friend of theirs. I can guarantee you, I'd be calling that demon every name in the book, gendered insult or not.
