144. But with the exception of a few, those women took the initiative to make their lives better and find the man of their dreams. They may not kick ass and take names, but they can be smart, resourceful, brave, and badass in their own ways. Snow White made the best of her shitty situation and whipped her lot in life into shape; so did Cinderella. Belle had a brain and a heart of gold and actually stood up to the incompetent jackass for whom everyone else melted like butter and the giant, hairy, monstrous beast seemingly hellbent on making her miserable. Jasmine fought for her own rights by convincing the king of the whole fucking country that she would marry whomever the hell she wanted and would not be made to settle down like a good girl. Ariel found what she wanted in life and got off her ass to go take it. It is possible to be both a good girl and a badass, and no woman should have to think that she has to do it all on her own to be happy and be taken seriously.

105. Meh, people are jerks. Heck, I've had people "review" fic of mine with comments having nothing to do with the fic (because they didn't like me and wanted to "call me out" or something - they couldn't have just emailed me, they had to troll)... I say keep writing, or, even, take your fic down for a while if it's what you've got to do, and put it up when you don't think people are as likely to bother you anymore. The important thing is if writing it *entertains you.*

116. Oh, I've dealt with that - different fandom(s) different pairing(s), different general obessions... In the end, I decided it wasn't worth it to have "friends" who did not respect me (but in my case, there were more issues than just stupid fandom stuff). If you can, tell your friend how you feel, and if s/he just *will not listen,* you need to decide if the friendship is really worth it to you.

119. Are you talking about the shows themselves or the fandoms? I hate to tell you this, but having a show with no sexual tension does not guarantee a shipwar free fandom. "Trigun" is like both of your shows about canon pairings repectively - the manga like one, the anime like the other, but there were some roaring ship wars in the fandom "back in the day."

157. I don't think the "AU" should be a fic genre as villified and reviled as it is. Yeah, many of them are bad, but most of *everything* in fanfic is bad. AUs can be lovely if people do them right. My favorite AU fic is a WIP a friend of mine has been writing that's set in a gritty, sci-fi, future set cityscape (for a sci-fi that is not set in a cityscape) and is an "alternate history" take on the series' canon(s). The key is to make your stories make sense and to keep the characters essentially themeselves, even in the new setting.

102, 121, 135. Since we're taking roll call, apparently: I loved Iron Man and Kung Fu Panda, liked Kingdom of the Crystal Skull okay, and didn't like Prince Caspian much at all. I haven't seen Speed Racer yet, and don't like the Sex and the City show and therefore don't plan to see the movies.

Apparently no matter what I think of any of these I will get wanked, but hey. There're my opinions.
